Do they cause a drop in your peak flow numbers: I fella few days ago and

ended up with 5 staples in the back of my head, hurt, yeah. The dr asked me

to take off the rest of the week due to being off Thursday and Friday

anyways; So back to my question does prescription problems with breathing

and peak flow #'s

I would guess it depends on the med. Some pain meds work by slowing the central

nervous system which would impact breathing. I & #39;ve been admitted to ICU 4

times in the past 6 months for other medical issues and my oxygen levels drop to

the 70s after the pain med dilauded. Not sure that & #39;s the correct

spelling. My peak flows were the least of my concerns when I was that sick but

I & #39;d certainly guess they were affected.

I agree. I think it depends on what type of pain med they gave you.

Also pain can bring on asthma symptoms and lower your #s. I would

check the med they gave you on a side effects website, or call your

pharmacist or dr to be sure. I know many pain meds can lower your

blood pressure and your O2 sats.

Hope your head is feeling better!!!
