Guest guest
Get another doctor. Did you explain to him that the Free T's are the better measure of what is going on in your body. It is still not perfect because it will not show the cellular level. Your Free T4 shows hypo. The sleep problems are hypo. I started on melatonan with the magnesium and it has helped. You need to move up to 2 grains. Kate At 02:16 PM 2/17/2006, you wrote: >For the experts.. Guest guest
Please fill-out the database form on this doc. It is completely anonymous. You do need a Free T3. You can order it yourself at HealthcheckUSA. Your Free T4 at 1.0 is lower than most of us would like, and there is plenty of wiggle room on the Total T3. Since the Free T3 generally runs lower than the Total T3, I think it would be safe to increase your Armour to 120 mg. Was this doc also unwilling to increase your Armour? Guest guest
He might have been willing to increase the Armour, but after my experience with the sleep lab that he is associated with, and since he is inconvenient to drive to, I will not go back to him. I may actually try Arlete Pharo again. I was one that reported that she reduced my thyroid meds, but it was when she switched me from Synthroid to Armour, and I may not have given her enough time... and I know a lot more now. I will call first and discuss a few things with her. This doctor that ran my tests is an internist. The chiropractor that referred him said " maybe " he will listen, because he does work with us on some cases. I will fill out the form. Thanks. Guest guest
Ruth See that T4 Index down there? Well, the #s there will show you just how worthless and a waste of money that test really is, because that test is an ESTIMATE of your Free t4, done from averaging stuff from the other worthless test, the Total. One thing that the Total T4 was good for was to compare to the REAL Free T4 to show just how much ungodly BOUND hormone you have going on here, in your particular body. 6. something? Compared to a measly Free 1.0? This is obvious with your particular testing. Can't remember, are you on any estrogens or other meds? Estrogen would bind it up and would cause it not to be brought out of the bound condition rapidly enough to use properly in a short time. This doctor doesn't even know how to read the tests that he ordered himself! Sheesh!! And we won't know how much you are actually converting to the useable form without the FREE T3. Whether you would " soak it up " from there is another matter. The T3 Uptake shows that you are taking it up, but whether your cell receptors are using it would only be known by the way you feel according to what amts. Depending on what the Free T3 is, that would determine whether you should have more Armour or if you should add a small amt of T4 (plus how you feel on the raised dosage of whatever combo there. lab numbers > For the experts..
