Hi everyone. I am so glad I came upon this sight. I was feeling

pretty hopeless until I started reading some of the post. I am 48 and

for the past couple of years have felt lousy, have had hair loss

weight gain, fatigue, dry/thin skin, brittle fingernails & difficulty

sleeping, and felt very hopeless. My Doc put me on an antidepressant

which did not work. Then after me begging finally did a TSH level

which she said was high normal. I finally saw another Doc & she did a

TSH, T4 & T3 & put me on Syntroid 0.050 which worked for about a week,

then she upped the dose to 0.075, which also worked for about a week.

My symptoms have returned & I literally had to force myself to get off

the couch this weekend. Are there any other test(s) that should be

performed for a more thorough elvaluation of my thyroid? I'm also

searching for a Doc that specializes with thyroid disorders. Any

suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks & may 2006 be the

best yet! Shirley
