Hi, this is - I just got out the Critical Care Unit in the

beginning weeks of November pneumonia which sent me into a full

blown asthma attack. Ever since I have gotten out it seems like it

been one thing after another, I came home on oxygen b/c at rest my

o2 stats was in the lower 80's. All I have done since then is cough

and cough, sometimes a dry other times a productive. I do good for a

few days, then I start running fever again - then back to the

doctor. I have pneumonia again more antibotics, treatments on the

hour, high doses of Predinsone and the funny thing is I haven't been

out of my house with the exception of doctor visits. What am I doing

so wrong? Both doctors (asthma and pulmonogist) say I am on some of

the strongest medication for asthma Advair 500/50mcg, Zyflo 600mg,

Zyrtec 10mg, DuoNeb (albuterol-atrovent)every 2-3 hours, Allegy

Shots, Xolair (waiting for 1st injection). I also had a pneumonia

vaccine, go figure! My biggest complaint is the continual cough

which will eventually make me throw up. I have been home for weeks,

I will do do some house work which causes me to be short of breath

and I will rest and then try again. I guess I sound like all Iam

doing is complaining, but really I just want to know if there is

anything else I can do? How long does to effects of pneumonia last?

I have had it 3'x since October. Just looking for help from people

who have been there....
