[snip] Your example is another case that indicates cow milk may not be the best thing for babies and infants, especially commercialised, pasteurised milk. I am begining to believe that children should not be given any milk at all ! We have not given our daughter any milk so far (she is 6.5 mo old), other than a couple of tsp. of kefir occasionally. Milk is getting linked with more and more diseases and intolerances every day. I am also begining to believe that there is nothing is milk that you can't get elsewhere, especially since the calcium-in-milk theory is mostly a myth. So, with so much controversy involved, why bother? I am glad Lydia is doing better now. Try VCO for the rash - in our case, it cleared out her rash in a matter of couple of days, where everything else had failed. -Pratick __________________________________________________

What bold statements. Thanks. Honestly, I think you are quite right, at least with respect to my family, and probably for many people. It is really difficult to access raw milk in my area anyway. It is a relatively modern food, like grains, and it may be best to forego it altogether, depending on how you feel consuming it. It has been a weakness though for me - cheese mainly. I can get raw butter and will probably continue with that, but otherwise, I am giving dairy up again. I'll let y'all know if I notice any changes in health over the next few months. Guest guest
I'll bet a cream with zinc oxide would help speed healing of her rash. I can't remember the name of the cream I used with my DD, but it was much better than the more common creams ( & , etc.) I'll try to check at home and see if I still have the cream, so I can report the name. > Just to update on Lydia, we've got it under controll. When we tried the lactose free milk, we couldn't find it in whole (though of couce then it would have been homoginized too blecht) so she was on 2%. She got contipated which I was sure was due to not enough fat. Well I finaly found a store that carried goat milk. I grabbed a box of the whole (because I know they don't homogenize goat milk) and gave it to her. BINGO! Not only does she not react to it like she did cow milk but the constipation immediatly cleared up! Her poor little bottom is still rashy, but it is fading slowly. I think the fat will help there too because she was so dry the skin was flaking :-( Ahhh, but soon I'll have access to my 2 favorite HFS's (and raw milk, howbeit it is from a conventional dairy) again, then I can get that wonderful organic chemical free cream again!! ::drooling:: Anyway, so thank you everyone on the thoughts and advice on Liddy's problems :-) And now that I'm cooking more NT again, her > appatite has picked up again and is eating us ou of house and home :-) > > > Mrs. Siemens > field Christian Fellowship > > Helpmeet to , mommy to Zachary and Lydia > > " For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation.... Guest guest
Super expensive Zincofax always worked before, this one is just stubborn. It started off as yeast but it doesn't look like yeast anymore, I'll try the zincofax again on it I think. I'll bet a cream with zinc oxide would help speed healing of her rash. Guest guest
I wonder if coconut oil would help? > Super expensive Zincofax always worked before, this one is just stubborn. As I said, it cleared out our daughter's diaper rash in a matter of days. Everything else had failed including the much touted zinc oxide - all it does is suppress it for a few hrs. or a day. You have to keep rubbing ZO several times a day, and that is something I wasn't comfortable doing to a 3 mo old baby. But VCO cleared it out in about 2 days - it was gone as if never there. -Pratick __________________________________ Mobile Take with you!
