Guest guest Posted December 15, 2007 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 In most places here, they wont fire you for the asthma part....they will get you for other things instead. Some of the states do not have strong worker protections and the laws are unfortunately in the favor of the employers in these places. When I lived in NYS as much as I got sick, I never had to worry about losing my job b/c employers there were much more understanding. Here in Florida, it seems they just dont care as long as you show up to do whatever it is that they want you to do. The place I worked at acted like they owned you and some employees were actually not allowed to leave until their work orders were complete. Personally Im glad I am out of there...but it still is wrong that it happened the way it did. ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.
