Guest guest
Alice, It grieves me to know how dreadful you feel your life is right now. Life is difficult enough without having to deal with chronic pain too. I suggest you talk to your therapist about family or marriage counseling. Six years ago I and my wife and our then sixteen year old daughter entered individual, marriage, and family counseling. One of the benefits of the counseling sessions was working through family misunderstandings about my chronic disease and the chronic pain and disability it produced. My daughter, who now has developed some arthritis in her hands, did not believe that I could be in as much pain as I claimed. She was astounded to learn how my life had been ruined by chronic pain. Even my wife, a doctor/surgeon, came to a deeper and better understanding of how I felt. I wish I could say that it solved all of our problems, but it did lead to a better family life for all of us.
