Guest guest
I have been happy with Dr. Ozan so far. He is open to learning, he listens, he is into compounded hormones, adrenals and armour...so we'll see when I need to go over 2 gr. armour if he is amenable. so far I think he's great! steph
Guest guest
, Dr. Ozan in San will run your free t's and is flexible as far as rx'ing synthetics or Armour. I ended up too complex for him to continue to treat, but he's a good starting point in San . He will run the right thyroid labs and he will run them all every few weeks. He wasn't on my insurance, and I'm not sure which ones he does accept, but his rates are reasonable, and was willing to send me to labs that are on my insurance. He is conservative about allowing the TSH to go too low (he put on the brakes when mine got to 0.4...it's at <0.01 now and I'm NOT hyper!) I haven't seen Mann, but I did have a friend who tried him at my suggestion. She made the appointment specifically for Mann, when she got there was told they're a clinic and you see who you happen to see, saw someone else, her ft's are very low, but barely in the range, and they put her on an antidepressant. So I'm not sure what the deal is there.... Here is another new one someone referred me to just recently. I know NOTHING about her, just that she does have her on bio-identical hormones and Armour. (The person that passed on the info went to her for meno-related issues, and this doc put her on Armour...she wasn't aware she had thyroid issues at the time.) I was told she doesn't take insurance. I just got this info this week, and haven't had time to do any research on her. Here's a link to her site http://www.antiagingsa.com/ Like I said, I know NOTHING about her, so I can't really recommend her. Good luck! > > Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is scary. > Who would you go to off the list that you have? I don't imagine Dr. > knows of anyone here? Guest guest
Thank you Niki. If you stopped seeing Dr. Ozan who do you see now? Dr. Marcus really seemed great when I first started seeing her but it is hard to see HER! I usually have to see the PA. And I am getting the feeling like they look at me like I am crazy when I want the Free T's run again. Even the nurse is like " I don't think Dr. Marcus will run that test again " . They are starting to make me feel like I am paranoid....but just hate the thought of finding another dr. too. > > > > Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is scary. > > Who would you go to off the list that you have? Guest guest
I'm seeing Dr. R in Lubbock now. I've got adrenal and other hormonal issues, plus extrememly high antibodies, so he's where I need to be! Have they, at any point, run your ft3? I may have just missed it, as I'm still in a fog most the time right now, but I can only remember you posting your TSH levels so far. If you have ft4 and ft3 levels you could share with us, maybe we can help you figure some things out. > > > > > > Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is > scary. > > > Who would you go to off the list that you have? Guest guest
The anti-aging doc is a DO. I just checked out the website. It doesn't mention insurance, and I'll bet they don't take any. But I could be wrong; it's happened once or twice before. Dr. Ozan's pretty good. I'm thinking about going back to him. At least with the cancer, I won't have the TSH issue. Guest guest
We do not know anyone who is currently seeing Dr. Mann. Janet was taking her grandmother to see him, but we have not heard anything about those visits, except that she was impressed with him on the first visit. A lot depends on what you need. If you do not need your TSH suppressed or your Free T3 very high, you might do well with Dr. Ozan. I think you may have adrenal issues, and I think he would be able to work with you on that. Someone mentioned a Dr. Marcos (or was that you?), but we do not know much about her. A good pill splitter with a stainless steel blade should work for quartering the Levoxyl. I find that for hard pills, I need to (not too hard) hit the pill splitter with my fist just enough to send the blade halfway into the pill. I can then break it the rest of the way by hand. Look on our site in "Links." There should be a place where you can order specialized pill splitters for odd shaped pills. The other way of dealing with that dose is alternate day dosing. 75 mcg one day. 100 mcg, the next. cowgirlgrams wrote: Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is scary. I think you said Dr. Akright was hard to see? I also have a "splitting of the pill question" ) I tried splitting the Levoxyl this morning in half and then in half again. Trying to get a 1/4 of the pill cut is almost impossible. I take two .50's white. And wanted to reduce it down to .87.5 close to the .88 pill which is the next dose down from the .100 that I am taking. Any suggestions? I tried splitting it with a pill cutter and a sharp knife. The pill is not soft but really hard! Thank you... What are the most popular cars? Find out at Yahoo! Autos
Guest guest
Yes, I was the one that mentioned Dr. Marcus. The few times I seen her I was impressed with her but I can never get in to see her it is always with the PA it seems. And it seems like she is blowing me off lately with my symptoms. And not too impressed with the office staff. I was thinking of doing the alternating dose but then I am wondering if this heart pounding and burning sensation could be from the fillers. Then would the .100 day play havoc on my stomach. And I wonder if it could be causing me to have blood sugar problems. I just don't know...I am just looking for answers. Thanks for the info on the pill splitting and support! Will keep you updated... > Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is scary. > Who would you go to off the list that you have? Guest guest
Do go see Dr. Ozan. It appears that you have adrenal issues, and he is one of the few docs willing to treat adrenals. I think I am going to delete Dr. Marcus. . . .cowgirlgrams wrote: Yes, I was the one that mentioned Dr. Marcus. Guest guest
Thanks Jan...I am seriously thinking about it. I am going to see the PA tomorrow. Even though my cortisol levels are normal does that mean I can still have adrenal issues? You can tell I am still green at this and I forget so much and trouble retaining. I need to see if Dr. Ozan is on my insurance. My insurance website is down until tomorrow go figure. I also am having Dr. Marcus do my women's wellness exam this year...the appointment is on Friday. Guess I will have to find a GYN too if I go to Dr. Ozan....Thanks Jan... > > Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is > scary. > > Who would you go to off the list that you have? Guest guest
Do not believe your insurance provider directories. They are padded with docs who have long since left the network. Call the doc's office and ask if he is in your network. Yes, you can have adrenal issues with cortisol in the normal range. This is why you need a doc who knows what he is doing with adrenal issues. cowgirlgrams wrote: Thanks Jan...I am seriously thinking about it. I am going to see the PA tomorrow. Guest guest
I plan on calling Dr. Ozan's office tomorrow. My appointment with Dr. Marcus's PA is in the morning at 9:30. I would probably have to leave my house in the morning for the PA appt. before Dr. Ozan's ofc. opens otherwise I would call and if I could get in to see him soon I would cancel this appointment with the PA tomorrow. This appointment is probably going to be a waste of time with the PA. But I feel sooo bad again today. Woke up feeling better and even thought I would go outside and pittle around a little with trimming some shrubs. About about an hour or two after taking a lower dose (.75) instead of the normal .100 my heart pounding came back ..then I ate a hard boiled egg and small glass of orange juice and I got real shakey again right after eating and a nervous wreck with more heart pounding and burning sensation. It's hard to function feeling that way. My husband was real supportive but then also told me he has to go out of town again tomorrow. Yikkkeeess... but I told him about switching drs. and he is ok with that. I was afraid he might think I was switching too much. > > > Jan, If you had to pick a dr. in San ...I know that is > > scary. > > > Who would you go to off the list that you have?
