Guest guest
Am I wrong folks, or does the soy actually keep the T4 from converting to T3, with some people? Maybe I'm wrong here on that one. I'll go looking again, but I have to get ready to go to work at this point. I think, if this is true, then increasing the thyroid hormone wouldn't help that, unless you were taking out and out T3 or more Armour, but not just T4? Re: HI, I Am a new member with hashis and hypo Hi Courtenay...I am not at all “soy free” -- just junkfood free as of now.. :)I started on a low carb diet a month ago that includes soy products and am wondering if that is really bad for me even if I am medicated properly to adjust for the added soy?Any idea? I see my endo March 3 to discuss...sue
Guest guest
Let me tell you Courtenay, I admire your discipline on food stuffs, since I really don't have as much discipline as I want to have. You can read my other post to see generally what my diet is, and I'm sure that my diet is NOT soy free yet, mainly because of those packaged goodies. I know better, but it's those machines at work that are the most tempting because I get extremely hungry, have eaten up the meal that I brought to work, and have burned so many calories that it's anything goes at that point, lol. I guess I need to bring a homemade goody, if I've just got to have something sweet and gooey (we're not talking about fruit here, hehe!), as it would be better to consume that than the crap in the machines. I also enjoy my coke and coffee and have never given up the creamer and sugar in it, and the soy (I think) is in some, if not all brands of dry creamer. So I'm NOT a good girl when it comes to eating stuff, just don't eat out and out soy products, as in the Naturade, female OTC products like Estroven and the like, and all-soy stuff. I hate Chinese food, so that one is not a problem. I also don't eat out often, but sometimes I've just got to break the cooking cycle, since I'm the only one here. Guest guest
Hi — I have never been on T3 so that is why we are adding it... From what I have read this is a good thing and should help overall thyroid. Sue Am I wrong folks, or does the soy actually keep the T4 from converting to T3, with some people? Guest guest
That sounds like a good plan to me, being as the soy is involved. Guest guest
I will definitely keep y’all posted — I can’t wait to start a new med and that is SO unlike me..! The soy helps with my pre-menopausal symptoms – which were almost non-existent this last month —so, the trick is to balance the meds so I can maybe tackle both issues at the same time...at least that is what my endo was saying and I so appreciate that! Sue That sounds like a good plan to me, being as the soy is involved. Re: HI, I Am a new member with hashis and hypo Hi ˜ I have never been on T3 so that is why we are adding it...
