Guest guest
I loved Zen Bear's response to eating meat. I love it when people use the work to validate staying exactly where they are...judging judging sorry zen bear (Carol, look away now...ooey gooey term alert) Sweetheart... do you think you can become a peaceful person by killing another to sustain your life? for me when i investigated that question as a young child the answer was no - for me. because my father was a traditional doctor with uninvestigated thoughts in nutrition he told me I would die without meat. so i did extensive research into those chemicals we secrete, how our alimentary canal is designed, what the veriform appendix is/was for, and on and on and on. so from the body's standpoint the research i did lead me to believe that eating the diet i'm on is best for my body. when i sat down and invited my father to investigate his thoughts on this subject....years later and very begrugingly after MANY health issues, he became a vegetarian. Just reading health files of longitudinal studies of seventh day adventists vs. meat eating americans is enough to make me feel fabulous about not eating meat. eckhart tolle says that when humans become conscious the behavior of all forms of nature will be altered....the lion will lay with the lamb and not look at it as a food source.... once again - if your mind is strong enough to ingest poison with no effect - then you need not worry about eating hormone treated meat to your heart's content. i could use many ARGUEMENTS for a vegan lifestyle....if you don't mind that 8 chickens share a small confined area so in order to stop the natural fighting the farmers rip off their beaks and they live without beaks and produce the eggs you eat...fine...if you don't mind that animals are taken to slaughter BEFORE they are dead and the assembly line begins to chop up their bodies.....if all this works for you then by all means eat meat. AT absolutely NO level does eating an animal product work for me. I commend Macs for paying millions to stop these practices.... i also later simply noted that every wise man from india that i have sat at the feet of that had a consciousness that i wanted for myself was either vegan or vegetarian. just my thoughts - this is what works for me and I feel so comfortable with at every level. This is my last post on my diet - I had no idea I would open such a door with my raw food vegan happiness diet....which certainly doesn't need me to defend it.....ya all are on your own eat whatever makes yah happy.....jan
