Guest guest
Hi- >Do >you feel WFN is at fault? Do you trust them? I have mixed feelings >about it all. I know it's a small family owned business so I hate for >them to eat the cost but at the same time, why should the customer? I think they were negligent but not malicious, but that's just a guess on the latter part. I've avoided ordering from them since the fiasco, except that I might have ordered my 5 gallons of QFI CO afterwards since I didn't know of any other source at the time. They do have some good products -- if you can afford them -- but nothing I haven't been able to find elsewhere. >Are there other suppliers for Quality First International coconut oil? I _believe_ that Coconut Oil Supreme sells QFI oil, but you'd have to check with them to be sure. However, their pricing does not scale downwards at all adequately. 5 gallons at their " discount " per-pound rate comes out to $347.76, which is $127.76 more than the $210 I paid WFN. OTOH, if you're just buying a very small amount, they actually offer a good deal, because at the 1-3.74# level, their per-pound price is just $11.95, whereas a pint of WFN's centrifuged oil costs $18.42/# if COS is accurate in saying that a pint of CO weighs 0.92#. A gallon of WFN's centrifuged oil, though, costs $64.95, whereas COS charges $76.91. A few months back, said that you can buy 5 gallons of QFI directly from QFI for $215. They don't have any kind of online ordering mechanism that I can find, but here's their number: 1-877-870-1018. I don't know whether they sell in smaller lots, but 5 gallons, I suppose, qualifies as bulk. -
Guest guest
What " problem " with freeze dried coconut flakes? As much as I've enjoyed them personally, I've been disappointed of late with problems I had with their coconut cream product. Both containers arrived with the covers rolling around in the shipping boxes. When I phoned WFN, they admitted they had a " capping " problem with all their coconut creams and would send me immediate replacements. Three phone calls later, still no replacements. I'm just about ready to reorder 5 gal of CO, so this thread is good timing. -Sharon, NH Deut 11:14 He will put grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will have plenty to eat. WFN - the freeze dried coconut issue Just wondering how everyone feels about this company now? I just found out this week about the problem with the freeze dried coconut flakes. I'm curious to hear what the consensus is. Were you able to get a refund if you asked for one? I can't get one because I found out about this -after- the expiration date on my coconut flakes. Do you feel WFN is at fault? Do you trust them? I have mixed feelings about it all. I know it's a small family owned business so I hate for them to eat the cost but at the same time, why should the customer? Are there other suppliers for Quality First International coconut oil? Guest guest
You can buy from QFI directly. I think you can get pretty much any size, and the one I have must be a gallon. I payed something like $53 for it. It's a big white plastic bucket. But I'm almost positive they gave smaller options. That's pretty lame that they don't have an online ordering system. AFAIK the only rule on quantity sold is one must buy $50 worth of product--and that has something to do with Canadian regulations. I buy small amounts of other types of oils all the time. WFN isn't selling QFI oil anymore and hasn't for many months. B.
Guest guest
Hi Folks, We at Radiant Life have sold QFI oil for years except in the last 6 months due to logistical reasons. We intend on carrying it again and will notify you all when we do. All the best, Christapher Radiant Life Re: WFN - the freeze dried coconut issue > You can buy from QFI directly. Guest guest
Sharon- >What " problem " with freeze dried coconut flakes? AFAIK it's been rectified now, but for quite awhile WFN swore up and down that their freeze-dried coconut was " naturally " sweet as some sort of mystery effect of the freeze-drying process. It was _really_ sweet, however, and when I rinsed it out in the sink, it wasn't sweet anymore -- and then finally it came out that their supplied was actually adding sugar. I think they could've handled the whole mess a lot better. They should've been on top of the situation much more quickly, and they should've been much more open about it once they were finally forced to admit that the product contained added sugar. -
Guest guest
> and then finally it came out that their supplied was actually adding sugar. ----> Gave me a sugar headache and I dumped it. And they told me no it wasn't sugar. Same thing with their orginal coconut water. Way too sweet and gave me a headache. More to dump. > I think they could've handled the whole mess a lot better. They are dealing with a savy group of customers so to not stay on top of their producers and then admit when a mistake has been made is fatal. I've since stopped buying coconut products from them. I'm using young Thai coconut for my water and buying my coconut oil from Hahn, a Penn. chapterleader. She's carries a brand called Nature's Blessing and has been to the Phillapeans to see the coconut farm. Lynn
