Guest guest
: Go here for side effects. http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/hctztri_ad.htm Rash is listed as one. You may want to check back with the n.p. or a doc, but it doesn't sound like you have to worry about a fatal bug bite. Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone takes the medication, Dyazide? I take it to lower my blood pressure and also it is a water pill... Since I have been taking it I developed a rash about 6 weeks ago on my lower legs about 8 inches up from my ankles. A friend of mine said it was probably caused from the sun as you cannot stay out in the sun for very long while being on Dyazide. ..Since then about 4 weeks ago, I have rarely ventured outside and the rash had spread up to my knees and on my lower arms, from the elbow down to the hand.. I called the doctors and the nurse passed on the message from my doctor to buy some Aveena bath salts and bathe in the stuff. Well after doing that and also using the Aveena soap and body cream the rash has continued to spread to my thighs and is blotchy looking and under the skin. I also have what I thought was mosquito bites. The inside of my left thigh..I noticed about five weeks ago has what looks to be bites. It looks like 5 raised red bumps forming almost a circle.. I called the doctor up again last Thursday and was told to come out to the clinic, but to wait outside in the parking lot and someone would come out to meet me.. This was just incase I had something contagious.. I went out to the clinic parking lot and the nurse practitioner took me into a back room and inspected my rash and the bite bumps.. She had no idea what the rash is but the bites she said looked like something bacterial so she wrote a script for Antibiotics. 4 pills a day and for me to go back to see her next Monday... So far I have not seen any improvement. My thighs never see the sunlight so I don't think it is from the sunshine.. I just hope I was not bitten by a spider and it be poison spreading in my arms and legs... I once read years ago some woman while cleaning out the garage was bitten by a spider and she after two weeks went into a coma. A couple of months later, she regained consciousness, her legs and arms had been amputated..I told my husband that if ( God forbid ) I do go into a coma and it is a spider bite, not to amputate anything I would rather be dead... Sorry this is so long winded but does anyone have any idea what the rash could be from? From: Erlanger74@... Guest guest
Hi , I had taken Dyazide in the past, without any problems. However, I have taken some other meds that caused rashes soon after starting them. The rheumatologist told me that a rash like that is a sign of a reaction to the drug and stopped the ones that have caused it. In all, I've had that happen three times, all with NSAIDS.
