Dear all,

This is Riki. I was introduced to the WAPF and Nourishing Traditions

through my studies in Holistic Nutrition at Bauman College in

Berkeley. I will soon be graduating and be a certified Nutrition

Educator and plan on continuing my studies another year to become a

Nutrition Consultant.

I was born in New York and at age 11 moved to Israel with my family

and lived there for 21 years after which I decided to move back to

the States. That was in 1999. My family is still in Israel. I don't

know what it was that told me to choose the Bay Area, but it was

right on the money. I currently reside in Alameda with 2 roommates

and recently " acquired " a very loving boyfriend.

These days, I work as a nanny caring for 2 two years olds in San

Francisco. A few times a year, I am part iof the managing team of

large scale events such as KFOG Kaboom! and Renaissance Faires.

I've always been interested in different cultures. In fact, I back

packed Asia for 6 months. One of the highlights of my adventure took

place in a remote village in Laos where I was hosted by a family who

lived in a bamboo hut with paper thin walls and without the

conveniences of electricity or indoor plumbing. While the husband

entertained us by taking us to explore caves, the wife went to hunt

a chicken and cook it in a broth with greens and rice. We gathered

around the candle lit table, ate a delicious, fresh, wholesome meal

and laughed and enjoyed each other's company despite the severe

language barrier. I guess that without even knowing it at the time,

I was enjoying " Nourishing Traditions " first-hand. (I am just now

realizing this as I write this intro and have a huge smile on my

face).

I have always believed that nature provides and I am saddened

because not only do so many people take it for granted, they turn to

other things instead. I could go on and on...

With love, light and happiness

Riki
