Guest guest
Hi all, Its me again. I've been doing a lot of reading re: real milk and I think something finally clicked. 10 years ago between my little brother and I, we went through 1-2 gallons of milk daily. My mother never believed the dozens of experts who told her she should be buying skim - so we always got " full fat " milk (if you can even call it that). My milk consumption dropped off just after my salt overload: starting around the same time as I started my menstrual issues. Could the exposure to the homone laden pasteurized milk have caused my hormone problems in the first place? I get a very annoying post nasal drip which accompanies my hormone imbalance. I can tell when my system isn't happy between the post nasal drip and the hot flashes at night. Recently I have been drinking more hormone laden pasteurized milk and sure enough, both symptoms have been worse - peaking with my peak consumption of standard grade A milk. I feel almost stupid to ask at this point: is this related? ----- When I visited family in Africa, I had raw milk from cows my grandmother raised. It was soo good, and it reminded me a lot of my grass fed milk from home. I had been sick when I arrived - I had a bout of what appeared to be gastric enteritis (or a recurrance of the same bout I was trying to kick for a few months). On the car ride to the farm, my grandmother bought some antibiotics and began to make me take them. I was too weak to protest, I threw most of them up and I was appalled later when they had appeared to work for what I thought was viral! This was 3 years ago and I just realized that when we got to the farm I started drinking raw milk for the first time in my life. We had a few glasses when we got there, grandma had extra milk brought to the house just for us and we had a few more glasses before bed. I woke up and was completely cured of the gastric enteritis. I have never had another bout. It really sucks that I live in a state where raw milk sale is illegal. I may have to make a trip to PA soon. Does anyone in NJ know of some kind of milk co-op where someone drives out to PA with a pool of money and comes back with a lot of milk to divvy up? I would hate to have to drive out there weekly. Thanks! Lana M. Gibbons
