Guest guest
You can't take narcotics for the pain? Because of the IBS or cause you doc won't give them? Did you try the fyentenal patches instead? or baclafan or clonidine? The by pass your digestive track all together? I'd say find another docotr, one who will get the approval or the SCS or pump. Is that because he says you are too young? Bad excuse. Get an advocate. Kathy
Guest guest
Hi Amber, What reason does your doctor give for the refusal on the stim? I've had a stim since 1995, and it does help a lot. Guest guest
Stella, There are many different kinds of narcotics: oxycontin (time release), etc. There is also an implant that infuses narcotic meds directly into the spinal area and blocks the pain message to the brain, similar to the spinal cord stimulator. If you are not getting help from your current doctor, find a new one. find someone who specializes in managing chronic pain. Keep looking until you get the help you need. I know it's exhausting, but hang in there and keep trying. There are caring doctors out there. Guest guest
I have just found out that I had osteoporosis as of the 2/1/2001. And I have been taking the EVISTA as of then and 1500 mg of calcium with vitamin D. i have been wondering every since I have been taking the calcium my bone hurt, I cant believe that is still is really that I have it. I took lupin for endometerosis back in 1997 i wish they would have told me back then to take the extra calcium because it sure would have helped, well anyway i cant take narcotics because they make me throw up. an ND once i start i cant stop. sorry but i have to leave i have the flu this week and i need to get some rest. so i will have to write more a little later. thanks for all the support Amber

Dear Amber, I'm new here..and yours is one of the first I've read..but Hon, you really need to get a new Dr....if he's unwilling to help you control your pain..you need to find some one who is. Have you gone to a pain management Dr.? There are some out there who will be willing to help. Don't give up...you can do this! Nette
