Guest guest
I have never heard that, but nodules sometimes do shrink and disappear on suppression.Lynn wrote: I'm going to post this again, but with my Endo's response."Pls, note that many times thyroid inflammation (thyroiditis) creates "pseudonodules", which are actually demarkated by inflammation cells. Hence, it is not unusual for such "nodules" to disappear (or even "migrate" or "reappear") over time. Sometimes the ultrasonographer reads them as real nodules.... No worry whatsoever. This is not unusual or weird at all"... Has ANYONE heard of this before.??????? I went to the Endo yesterday for a follow up.I did not get any paperwork until after I saw the Dr. So have not had a chance toask why my last U/S dated12/15/05 said no discrete nodule within thyroid.But....My U/S dated 9/16/05 measures my nodule at 10 x 8 x 6mm (previous measurement on 1/7/05 10.0 x 10.0 x 7.0mm)What happened to my nodule? Could this be right? All U/S's were done by the same hospital.I also have a question about possibly being hyper. My Labs:TSH0.02L range 0.50-5.50Free T41.4 range 0.9-1.8Free T3420 range 230-420 (Took Cytomel and Unithroid 6am, blood drawn at 12N)My Anti bodies were on a down swing but now are going up, slightly.__________________________________________________
Guest guest
IMO, there isn't any answer to your question of when T3 spikes, being as different people's bodies act differently on different amts of T3 lab values. Some people might feel hyper or be hyper on one amt of blood T3, but someone else, that same amt may not even be enough to make their body run right. This is why doctors, ALL doctors need to note that symptoms come before labs, keeping labs strongly in mind, but still, symptoms first. No more nodule? I also have a question about possibly being hyper. My Labs:TSH0.02L range 0.50-5.50Free T41.4 range 0.9-1.8Free T3420 range 230-420 (Took Cytomel and Unithroid 6am, blood drawn at 12N)My Anti bodies were on a down swing but now are going up, slightly.Am I hyper? Or could this be just because of the timing of taking my meds? When does T3 spike? Thanks for anyone's input.Lynn
Guest guest
Thanks . I usually don't take my meds until after my blood is drawn, but this was way later in the day than I usually get it done. I am thinking I might be a little hyper. I've been taking a lot of vitamins, and supplements and think that it may be causing my thyroid meds to work more effecient. I am going to drop my T3 down some. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I don't feel qualifed to comment on your blood test results (do you feel overmedicated?) but I will tell you that I went for a follow-up ultrasound 2 or 3 years after a nodule was found, and the technician could not find anything in that area of the thyroid. It was not there. Guest guest
Haha, Lynn, Where did those nodules go? Well, good riddance to bad rubbish, I always say. I meant to say something in agreement with what you said before. I feel like my thyroid hormones are working better when I am faithfully taking my supplements, vitamins, and minerals too! > >Hi Lynn, > > > >I don't feel qualifed to comment on your blood test results (do you > >feel overmedicated?) but I will tell you that I went for a follow- up > >ultrasound 2 or 3 years after a nodule was found, and the technician > >could not find anything in that area of the thyroid. Guest guest
I had one the size of a pea, but after getting the proper dosage for several months, it disappeared. Loretta
Guest guest
I think that thyroid medication was/is still abused by some as a form of diet pill to speed up metabolism and suppress appetite. There are warnings in the PDA (Physician's Desk Reference) and other literature on not using the medication for that purpose. So perhaps when the docs have patients sitting across their desk looking like cr*p, overweight, cold, ready to fall asleep, and depressed, it is only logical to them that we are lying and want more medication so our TSH will fall below the lower range, we will all look like Kate Moss, and they will lose their licenses. > > Why would they be afraid of suppression? Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Sounds like your doctor is a rare breed. He actually reads recent research? Wow! My impression is that most just parrot what they learn in med school and don't bother with the rest. Sorry I'm so cynical, everybody. I have yet to rant about my recent " doctor " visit here. I will. I just think it's great Lynn your doc is paying attention! Guest guest
I've never been able to stand anything tight around my neck, always had to unbutton the top button if a blouse had buttons and even higher type scoop neck are uncomfortable, but then, I have such a weird body, can't stand tags in clothing, have reactions to some types of materials, perfumes, cleaning stuff, petroleum distillates, lots of foods, cosmetics, etc. I smell things others don't, bothered by noises others don't seem to hear. Loretta > > I no longer have that problem after a subtotal thyroidectomy, but I did feel like that for many years. > > Dr. Noble felt my neck and said the thyroid seemed fine. I expected it to not feel right because in the past few years, I cannot stand to wear a turtlenech sweater or any shirt that comes up high or tight around my neck. Do other people feel that way? > Marilyn > > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Photos > Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars.
