Guest guest
Hello to all, Am I the only man taking part in this discussion? Then I must be extremely careful, even more careful than I usually am. Have you ever heard about the Gordian Knot? I don`t know the whole story, but it seems that the Great was once shown a knot that nobody had so far been able to un-knot. What did he do? He simply drew his sword and cut the knot. Ok, that wasn`t very fair, but again he solved the problem, didn`t he? And who would dare to say that the Great had done something wrong? Indeed, he was a very impatient man, . So I am not trying to look at the question of overweight and obesity in a simplistic way. I know there are many factors involved. But shouldn`t we try the basic things first? I have observed that overweight is often associated with constipation. By the way, I hear more women than men complaining about constipation. Shouldn`t we then treat constipation in the first place? What do we need? Fiber, in other words raw or leafy veggies. I know of people who can`t tolerate raw veggies. In this case, they should start with very small portions and gradually increase them and eat the raw stuff not at the beginning but in the middle of the meal, so it is well mixed with the other foods and is more easily tolerated. So, first step – avoid constipation with raw veggies. Secondly – I hear many people linking milk to constipation. So, reduce the consumption of milk. Thirdly – Eat two or three regular meals rather than snacks. A fruit- snack in the middle of the afternoon is alright, but no other snack is wanted, if you eat the regular meals. If, with these three measures, we can relieve constipation, we may be addressing overweight as well. Doesn`t this approach look like a Gordian-Knot-ish solution? Maybe not so quick, but certainly as simple, provided that it works. I should think that in some cases it will work. Anyway, this is just my two cents` worth and I hope it helps.
