Guest guest
Hi Cindi, I have heard that, too - I read that if you get stuck somewhere without your meds, coffee is a good emergency measure. Something about it being a chemical cousin to theophyline - one of the older meds. Guest guest
Someone else told me just smelling the coffee alone is enough to get this to work, but I thought they were bullshitting me until you brought it up...that makes 2 or 3 that I've heard of coffee helping with respiratory stuff... However in general coffee has a lot of stuff that is not good for your digestive system. sea_girl111 wrote: Hi Cindi,I have heard that, too -I read that if you get stuck somewhere without your meds, coffee is a good emergency measure.Something about it being a chemical cousin to theophyline -one of the older meds.Alana>>>> but I do know that strong black coffee has a natural ingredient > that helps loosen the bronchial tubes Never miss a thing. Guest guest
If coffee made me stop having an asthma attack when I had no other means....I would go with it. I think we are talking about an emergency measure. Coffee has been around for as long as I can remember...and I think it has been around a lot longer than that. There are a lot of things not good for you digestive system..... hugs, Cindi Noah Riding wrote: > Someone else told me just smelling the coffee alone is enough to get > this to work, but I thought they were bullshitting me until you > brought it up...that makes 2 or 3 that I've heard of coffee helping > with respiratory stuff... > > However in general coffee has a lot of stuff that is not good for your > digestive system. > > */sea_girl111 /* wrote: > > Hi Cindi, > > I have heard that, too - > > I read that if you get stuck somewhere without your meds, > coffee is a good emergency measure. > > Something about it being a chemical cousin to theophyline - > one of the older meds. > > Alana > > >>>> but I do know that strong black coffee has a natural ingredient > > that helps loosen the bronchial tubes > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Never miss a thing. COFFEE I discovered that Coffee will help my breathing when I have an onset of asthma. I told my GP about this and she said that hot Coffee will reduce the swelling in the Bronical tubes. My Grandson who also has asthma overheard me talking about Coffee and now he has developed a taste for coffee. Have a good breathing day.Lou No viruses found in this incoming messageScanned by iolo AntiVirus 1.5.3.5http://www.iolo.com No viruses found in this outgoing messageScanned by iolo AntiVirus 1.5.3.5http://www.iolo.com
Guest guest
Caffeine is a stimulate and helps to open your airways and other blood vessels. That's why you find caffeine as an ingredient in some headache/migraine meds. Excederin has caffeine. The hot of the coffee helps break up mucuous and the caffeine helps stimulate things. I have to avoid milk in it though (which I love) as then it doesn't help as much. I'm a major diet coke addict, but make myself drink lots of water too. :-) Kathleen > > I drink Mountain Dew when I have my attacks, Has to be a COLD MOUNTAIN DEW, > the dr said it had something to do with the Caffeine that's in it > > > Terry > I know God will not give me anything I can't handle.
