Guest guest
Saw my naturopath today for a whirlwind but comprehensive half-hour visit covering my exhaustion, weird blood sugar episodes and anxiety. Conclusions: 1) My thyroid is fine. 2) I am very probably insulin resistant and definitely pre-diabetic and need to act as if I am regardless whether we continue testing. 3) The onset of panic and anxiety attacks post-heart attack points to a problem with cortisol, and all of my symptoms together points to a strong possibility that I have an epinephrine/norepinephrine imbalance, possibly genetic. 4) I am borderline anemic. Rx; 1) Eat as many iron-rich foods as I can and if that doesn't get my levels up then gently supplement. Avoid carbs; keep drinking whole milk and get it raw if possible. 2) Continue taking my food-based multi (Rainbow Light Advanced Nutritional System), magnesium, l-carnitine, l-taurine and CLO. 3) Start taking SAM-e. 4) Start taking Methyl Cobalamin sublingually 5000 mcg once daily for NE/EPI balance, catecholamine metabolizing, estrogen and homocysteine metabolism support. 5) Start taking Actifolate. 6) Recommended tests: Glucose/insulin tolerance; HgA1c; CBC, Ferritin; DHEA sulphate and cortisol; neuro-genomic DNA testing; 2nd urine neurotransmitter NE vs EPI, serotonin and PEA. Says I don't *need* any of them to act on what we're seeing, but at some point it'd be good to know. I've lost 11 pounds on this " I can't eat " diet, which I don't recommend. I must say it's nice to be in my next-size-down clothes, though...
