I just wuv the leptin meal timing and it's working for me. There's a summary here: http://www.bodyandfitness.com/Information/Weightloss/eating_fitness.htm From the book, one thing s says is that for mixed meals (which he recommends), the first 2 hours after the meal, the insulin/glucose system is in charge. Then when that's all gone, from 2.5 to 3 hours on, glucagon starts up facilitated by the liver. He says that for people who have been eating regrettable things too often, then insulin/glucose is way sluggish and takes too long, and the second half doesn'thave time to get started so you never get to the stored fat very well. Plus I just hate frequent eating - seems such a hassle. This way I only do it 3x per day. The Warrior Diet claims to help with hormones too. he has the " undereating " phase and the giant meal at the end of the day, including everything (protein, fibrous carbs, good fats, starches). He doesn't recommend any particular meal timing for the undereating other than saying the whole point is to undereat and not stress the digestive system. Some people have nothing and some have fruit/nuts at intervals. He does say that when one is first beginning, a good transition is protein/fruit snacks with protein less than 3 ounces (I assume that's for a guy). I would not touch that approach because I have a history of starve/binge and it skates too close to thin ice even years after stopping that behavior.
