Yes, I did. I only did about 129 miles over the weekend, but the 900

cyclists as a group raised over $2 million for Make-a-Wish!

Hi everyone,

Wow, there was such amazing content in my last two email digests. I decided to

switch to individual emails because I really want to respond and now I feel like

I don't know where to start!

Anyway, to all the new members, welcome! I have found, in my short month or so

with this group, that it's an amazing support and has truly enhanced/accelerated

my progress with IOWL.

I was always so private and secretive about my food/weight issues. This is the

first time in my life I've embraced participating in a group, and perhaps that

is why this is the first time in my life it feels like my journey is so

positive! I, like Charlotte, have even started using the blog on Spark People

(for the IOWL group) as a place to debrief on my journey, process 's

ideas/steps, etc. It's been very helpful for me to do that and so new to be so

public about it. I even put my photo there, and I've been a member of Spark for

years and never had a photo there!

Charlotte, your enthusiasm is infectious, and I love your new journal! You

mentioned that you generally use blogging and I'd love to read your posts, if

you feel OK sharing!

I'm sure I didn't respond to everything but wanted to say hello to all.

I'm back home after a few days away and will be going away again in a few days.

I'm proud and thrilled to say that before I left I thought about how I wanted to

feel and did a pre-do about how I'd act, eat, be...and for the most part, it all

went really well.

Thanks again to all for their support and insights!

Well done, Eldred!

We have a bike ride here in Houston, the MS 150, benefits the National MS

Society and is a two day, 150 mile trip. My goal is to ride in it within

the next two or three years... secondary goal is to do at least one day

of the trip! =)

You need to do the miles in training. Doesn't make it easy, but it

makes it not so hard...

<g> You could do it NEXT year, if you put in the miles.

WOW!  I've really enjoyed reading the postings.  You are all motivating me and

giving me so many great ideas.  Thanks to Pamela and Charlotte for sharing

their

images of Jane and the cute little creature. I loved your descriptions! And

Charlotte, you've inspired me to get a fun journal!!

Dora, I hope to find calm acceptance too.  My acceptance right now is an angry,

resentful, hateful kind of acceptance.  In all reality, that's not

acceptance.

After doing a lot of soul searching / digging in as to where I am right now, my

current symptoms, and who's affected by my weight struggle, I'm feeling angry,

resentful, hostile, and the list of negative feelings goes on. I wrote in my

journal that I'm taking responsibility for all of me - the past me, the present

me, and the future me.  I'm now more motivated than ever to reach inner

alignment. Through patience and persistence I will prevail!

I have several food centered challenges coming up and need to be mentally

prepared. I found the pre-do and re-do information in the book.  Is there a

podcast that discusses re-do and pre-do?   If so, what's the #?

Thank you all again for making me feel welcome with your kind words, your

personal thoughts, your successes and challenges, and fun suggestions.

Thanks for caring and sharing!

Hey (and everyone!)

I totally don't mind sharing my blog - it's there for all the world to see

- my triumphs, my failures (oops, I mean, my opportunities for feedback)

and everything in between!

Here it is - www.charlottesdukandiet.com

I should really think about changing the name of the blog to " Charlotte's

Not-Quite Dukan Diet (anymore) " , because I'm not following Dukan strictly

anymore - I'm allowing myself more cheese and oil than Dukan allows, as

well as the super low-carb weight watchers fruit yoghurts (Dukan

disapproves of fruit yoghurts). I also got majorly disillusioned with

Dukan's money grubbing ways - his online " community " was pitiful, badly

run, badly designed and HORRENDOUSLY expensive. 's way of doing

things seems like a breath of fresh air.. :)

Smile Yowlers! It's almost hump day! ;-)

Hi ,

The re-do is in the podcasts on Kaizen and Continuous Improvement. I found the

podcasts very helpful and will actually be listening to them myself in the

coming days before I leave for a trip. I will just do pre-do's instead of

re-do's...

9-12 I think...

Best,

Eldred,

Congrats on going as far as you did! What happened? Are you ok? Or did

training not go as planned? I bet for every Eldred who did as much as he

could with what the day gave him, there are 50 who stayed home because

they felt they " didn't measure up " . Compare yourself to the ones who

stayed home and realize you are a rock star!

Thanks! Neither one of us got enough training, and my riding partner

got hypothermia on Friday. We rode in pouring rain for almost 3 hours

in mid-sixties temps, and it caught up with her. Saturday we went a

little farther, and Sunday we did the most miles.

It's almost hump day! ;-)

Thanks! Should I mention that I lost 7 lbs over the weekend, but

gained a couple back already? Fast food is my crutch...

Well done, Eldred!

We have a bike ride here in Houston, the MS 150, benefits the National MS

Society and is a two day, 150 mile trip.  My goal is to ride in it within

the next two or three years...  secondary goal  is to do at least one day

of the trip!  =)
