Guest guest
, I must agree with Karla. My 4 year old daughter has PMG also. She is walking already and talking but very delayed in her speech. I have no doubt that she will communicate with us better as she grows and it does give me hope that you are a " normal " person in society and PMG can be lived with and dealt with in later years. Jenna, we are pretty sure, has mental retardation so her future is a " wait and see " just like most of our kids. I hope you find the answers you are looking for here. PMG is so varied in what our children can do...it is mind boggling. Take care. Hi Hello my name is Karla my daughter Sidney has pmg.I'm sorry that I have not been much help, but I'm writing to let you know that reading about you has given me hope. To be 25 walking and talking and married that is a great thing to hear. I hope that you will keep posting and asking questions. Thanks Karla

Guest guest
Hi Esther, Happy Friday to you! I'm sorry to hear what happened last night. Have you had testing for asthma? It can be frightening to have an asthma attack. One thing that is nice is the hospital does treat its own (employees) with a bit of preferential treatment. It may seem unfair, but employees make a significant contribution. They do additional things that wouldn't happen with others, too. You said they kept you for several hours, which often doesn't happen here. People wait several hours to see a doctor, are taken back to the ER, then wait several more hours to see a doctor. They receive brief treatment and are booted out the door. It can be awful for them, and that is at the private hospital. I'm sorry some of the email made you anxious. Our government really needs to overhaul the state of our medical care for its citizens. The way the elderly, uninsured, disabled, and veterans are treated is dreadful. It is terrible how many homeless people live in this Country. It sounds like a much better system in the UK. I'll be thankful when the current administration leaves. Sometimes we have a lot of fun emailing each other. We have a researcher who does a fabulous job finding helpful things for others. We have to check our silliness when a new member joins in order to address any needs they may have. The group has been growing so fast, its scary. Again, it makes me wonder if Stills is really rare or is often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. I hope you are on the mend soon! Rent a good movie and take it easy for the day. It may be hard, but try not to study. A day off may leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the world. Good luck on the test results. Feel better soon, Barbara Gardner Ventura, CA

Guest guest
I hope the tests come back ok Esther.I know when my stills was active the lungs were almost always involved pleuracy. d.Canada Hi Hi all Been quite for a few days. Was reading my e mails at computer on tuesday night, and became short of breath while sitting still - new and scary sensation. Well, went to A+E, and was admitted under medics at hospital overnight. Got a lot better after 3 hours, A+E doctors realy good, but medics saw me once I was better again, and appeard not to realy believe someone my age could actualy be ill... In the end was in hospital overnight, getting very sleep deprived, and nothing further has been done, was just sent home to wait for the tests already arranged for next week. So, prayers to stay well enough to stay at home and avoid hospital till scan on monday very much aprichiated. Still not been given any indication if it is ok to do things when fealing a little more well than I was on Tuesday, it's all so confusing. Anyway, I am fealing quite good this beutiful friday morning, so will try going in the garden for a few minitues at least. Was a bit phobic of reading e mails since Tuesdays experience, but have managed today without ending up in A+E!!! prehaps it will be easier tomorrow. I do so appriciate how careing you all are, and I hope I can be too. Love to you all Esther --------------------------------- Now you can scan emails quickly with a reading pane. Get the new Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Maree! You're in the right place! I'm here for the same reasons and this is an awesome forum! Welcome! Don _____ From: Autism_in_Girls [mailto:Autism_in_Girls ] On Behalf Of Maree McMahon Sent: Monday, February 11, 2008 11:03 PM To: mareemcmahon@... Subject: hi Hi My name is Maree McMahon. I am a mother of three children, now all at school. My eldest is a girl and she is doing well academically and socially, although she does experience frequent anxiety/panic attacks. She has received counselling and is also taking a Multi vitamin B. My two younger boys both have sensory issues. They particularly have difficulties with clothes touching their skin and may become quite distressed with some types of clothes. Seams and tags are the worst. I am also having great difficulty finding food that they will eat – very fussy eaters. They are both having assessments at the moment but the school principal and an occupational therapist both suspect that it may be a form of autism. Their father is also suspected to have an undiagnosed form of autism. I have joined this group because I would like to hear what others have to say: how others cope, any advice given, feelings shared. Looking forward to being involved.
