Banana Peels

Hello,

I care for 2 toddlers and today one of them asked to eat banana peel. I figured

I'd say " ok " , she'd taste it and then not want anymore. However, she liked it

and kept wanting more. My initial reaction was to grab it away from her, but I'm

wondering juust how bad or good it actually is.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Riki

I believe they are sprayed with toxic chemicals. :-(

Even if they're organic?

Riki....Whether organic or non-organic, I think e-coli is still an issue for

all bananas, potentially active on the skins. While some non-organic

bananas may still use human fertilizer, the organic bananas can still be

infected from less-than-ideal sanitary conditions with some workers not

using " facilities " , not washing hands, or disease-carrying flies landing on

the foods, etc. I still only give my children unpeeled bananas, doing the

peeling for them - okay, so I'm paranoid, that's even after washing them

with H202. My son's gut is extremely sensitive (typical for Autism) so I

have to be really on guard, which is a major reason for my caution. There's

no nutritional value in banana skins, that I know of. I'm curious if the

child you mentioned has an affinity for chewing on other non-food items?

If so, that could indicate something going on other than a child being

curious, like a taste, etc.

Deut 11:14 He will put grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will

have plenty to eat.
