Guest guest
I have enjoyed and been enlightened and comforted by the members of this group, but everyone I meet is at least 5 years younger than I am. Wnile I do love interacting with people of all ages, those of us who are older have some unique challenges to weight loss and we have less time to accomplish our goals! I never gave much thought to weight loss until I hit menopause. I was a comfortable size 12, and I was fine with that. I could do my daily work easily and take my beloved yoga classes for a soothing way to keep fit. I had a hysterectomy when I was 48, and from that time on, my weight has been an issue. I also had a few emotionally difficult events happen around that time, and with all the physical and emotional stress, I have gained over 60 lbs. My food issues are there, but I am more challenged by exercise. I have tons of fitness equipment--DVD's, weights, bands, etc.--but I just WON'T use them. There is something blocking my ability to get off my butt (and the computer) to get fitter. I have no excuses. Anyway, I just wanted to see if there were any other older folks out there who were struggling with both weight and aging. Take good care, y'all!
