I hope you don't mind, but I find it easier to reply here....

First of all, I think you found the right place. :-)

" I spend the majority of my days stressing over my money, my job, my

relationship status, and mostly my body. I can openly say at this moment in my

life that I HATE MYSELF. Why? Because I am fat, unintelligent, bad with my

money, and don't live up to my potential. I then go on to hate myself for being

so vain and shallow. I hate myself for being so concerned with money. I hate

myself for being so mean to myself, for being short-tempered, for complaining

all the time. And then....at the end of it all, I think, " My god, there are

people out there suffering FROM FAR WORSE THINGS THAN I!  Starvation, war, rape,

disease, abuse, etc. etc. etc.......what kind of person am I that I sit around

and cry and obsess over such trivial things? "

One of the things I've learned on my journey through life is that you can't

compare suffering. There isn't a nice, even balance sheet, ya know? 

If you are feeling pain, you are feeling pain. It doesn't matter if someone

else's situation might be worse. 

Validating your own feelings is a way to start being kind to yourself. If you

can start being kind to yourself, you can start to appreciate yourself. Which

can lead to liking yourself. And who knows? Maybe even loving yourself....
