Guest guest
Hi, I'm a fairly long-term lurker, just absorbing the knowlege you all toss around, but now I have a question. My husband (who, up till now, hoped my " health food craze " would go away), had just gotten his lab results showing very high (around 600)triglyceride levels. Now , I've been able to convince him not to take the statins that the dr wants him on, but I'm not exactly sure what to do to get the number down to an " acceptable " level. Alot of the conventional advice out there I know is wrong - low fat this and soy that- but what should I advise him to eat/avoid? Anyone out there have any ideas? Thanks, Fran
Guest guest
" The way you control blood lipids is by controlling insulin. " That is from the second page of this 4-page article: http://www.mercola.com/2001/jul/14/insulin.htm# If your husband eats a lot of starch and sugar, that is the first thing he needs to change. If you eat lots of starch and sugar, then your body has to produce lots of insulin. So you can reduce the amount of insulin that is produced by reducing the amount of starch and sugar that you eat. --- In , " Fran " <mthrswtns@b...> wrote: > > Hi, > I'm a fairly long-term lurker, just absorbing the knowlege you all toss > around, but now I have a question. He should cut out ALL refined carbs from his diet and start eating low-carb. His triglycerides will plummet. -
