Guest guest
I love simple automation that helps us help our patients. Seems like the conversations regarding ePrescribing are all describing SureScripts. I'm leery of single vendor solutions that find their way into legislation. I'd feel a lot more sanguine about this approach if I could review some solid medical literature documenting improved patient outcomes, safety, ease of use, ability to integrate work flow with existing systems, cost to solo and small practices, etc. Legislation is a very blunt instrument which often leads to many unintended effects. Also, many of the " mailorder " houses now owned by the chain pharmacies so pts can get their meds there and also get pharmacist counselling (and might buy something in the store too...). I also hate the " cut and paste " method, but ultimately, online integrated ePrescribing (Surescripts) should make this " point and click " in the office. Just am trying in my own way to see that the pharm industry pays the costs -- we should pay for the computers and internet connection only. (saw Congressman Tim my district today at an appearance and gave him my card and 2 cents -- hope his staffers take me up on the offer. He's the main one in national congress trying to make ePrescribing MANDATORY for all of us....) He's a former Pediatric Psychologist, actually Hand in there Jean.
