I haven't noticed any difference in odor or abrasion personally, but

then as I've said I'm really not that furry. My sister got all the

furry genes. :)

so i wonder why God gave us pit hair? i've always thought maybe it was

to protect your upper arms from rubbing against each other thus causing

abrasion.

there goes that theory.

I can't answer for God, but one of the current science theories

is that the hair helps transmit odor ... gives the bacteria a place

to live so they can make that wonderful smell, which presumably

advertises " who you are " . Males make more of the " bacteria food "

responsible for said odor, and they have more hair to advertise it.

Since our society is not real keen on intense odors, we

do our best to sabatoge the process, shaving the hair

and wearing deodorant.
