I suffer from hyperhidrosis, and work in an office environment, and have found that shaving my armpits helps control body odor (although I have found no difference in the amount of sweat I produce whether I shave or not). But when I don't work closely with other people, and especially in the winter, I don't bother shaving my pits or my legs, unless I have to play dress up and wear hose. No fun having brown leg hair poke through pantyhose when wearing a knee length skirt! I have also found, that if I have fully grown out armpit hair and have a steady jogging routine going, that the armpit hair abrades and gets irritated with all the movement and sweat. So generally for my active summers I shave.
