I'll stop immediately! But this makes me wonder then why is flax promoted at all

in NT? I had read something recently on Mercola's website about linking it to

prostate cancer which already had me wondering.

I second, third, fourth, and trillionth that. A tablespoon of flax

has a real lot of PUFA without much benefit. These PUFAs will

increase lipofuscin levels directly. I would take the tsp of CLO and

ditch the flax. If you're using regular CLO, switch to the

high-vitamin CLO. (Radiant Life or Green Pastures [blue Ice]).

Something else was concerning more head hair and less body hair coinciding

with adding fish oil but also metabolic typing supplements. Fish oil

definitely made the brown burn scars go away all at once even though they

were of different ages. Have never had burns or scars turn that color and

stay. Coconut oil was the only different fat in my diet at the time scars

stayed. Concerning the liver/age spots on my back this makes sense

from The Good Fat Cookbook pg. 43

the fetus will steal the mother's DHA if Mom's diet is deficient.

and for Phil from pg. 49

Bruce Fife N.D., offers a way to tell if you are getting too much omega-3;

if you notice new liver spots, those dark patches that turn up on your skin

as you age, that's an indication your omega-3 is out of balance, which he

thinks could lead to too many free radicals circulating in the body

(omega-3s are also polyunsaturated, as fragile as all other oils in this

group and as prone to free radical development). Obviously, if you notice

new bruises, your omega-3 level is too high.

Flax could be the imbalance. Daughter liver spots appeared with bruised

extremely easily until age 5. C and bioflavinoids, the usual remedy for

bruising didn't help. My imbalance was low, her's high.

Well these spots are brand new. I did not realize one could have too many

Omega-3's. I mean everything I've read in NT and on the WPF website seems to

make the surplus of Omega 3's almost unheard of.

I realize nobody's perfect but I admit if Enig is some fat expert I would think

she would all about flax oil. Kind of makes me wonder if she's incorrect on

something else.

Have you seen what she eats? And what she looks like? Of all the WAPF

people who listed their meals for a couple days in the journal awhile ago,

she had by far the crappiest diet.

More to the point, though, everyone is incorrect about something, so it's

unwise to require infallibility. You just have to do your own due

diligence, which admittedly can be a pain.

Well you confirm what I think may be the problem. I think it's the flax seeds I

was taking for constipation. BTW figured out that supplemental magnesium helpd

with that problem. Think the heavy metals in me may be using it up.

I agree that there is a deficiency in explaining this. You also get

the impression that it's really easy to get an excess of PUFA.

Then when you find out that all omega-3s are PUFAs (polyunsaturated

fats), your mind implodes, and you try to reconcile it.

In fact, Sally quite agrees that one can have to much omega-3. She

warned someone on the chapter leaders list that if they use flax oil,

they shouldn't use more than a teaspoon a day, and she said WAPF

recommends the high-vitamin CLO so one can get enough vitamin A

without overdoing the omega-3s. I guess I should bring this up to

her-- that newcomers probably get the impression that omega-3 intake

can be unlimited, which isn't the case.
