Guest guest
Hi Pratick, > Just had to post this - a delightful and humourous look at the > obesession with food quality. > > http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/4389849.stm > True story. I discovered the orthorexia theory over a year ago. It was a web page similar to the article you listed above and it linked to the creator of the theory. http://www.orthorexia.com/ At the time I was involved in a small battle with Dr. Plotkin at Dr. Mercola's Wellness Center and I was in massive resistance to the notion that I had to change my diet from the Zone to the Metabolic Typing Diet. I had also just read a couple of Dr. Mercola's newsletter posts about how he would never go into space (his childhood dream, IIRC) because the radiation would decrease his lifespan and I was just generally running around dissing him for his food obsessiveness when I encountered the Orthorexia idea. So in a little bit of a pique I anonymously sent Dr. Plotkin the link to the website along with some kind of smarta** comments about their entire practice being whacked out and they might want to consider therapy. To their credit a couple of weeks later Mercola posted a newsletter article discussing it. LOL. Ron

Just my take, but I think some things, like going out into space, might be worth loosing a tiny bit of lifespan.
