My dad had a " partial " as long as I can remember. I understand he

got it in the Navy.

So I guess that means they pulled some of his teeth (molars) while he

was in his 20s and replaced them with a " partial " denture. Perhaps

something like that would be a good solution in your situation.

My dad never used any of those denture adhesives, and I don't think I

ever saw him soaking the device.

Knowing how bad root canals can be as a locus of infection, it sounds

like a partial might be better than a root canal.

I would look into it if I were in your position.

Here is a link to a tooth chart. There is supposed to be a

connection of some type between each tooth and the various systems

and parts of the body.

http://www.holistic-dentistry.com/toothchart.asp

Even if I were having the tooth extracted, I would be interested in

seeing what systems/organs might be troubled with infection from the

bad tooth.

Thanks laura...at this point i just wish i could rip it out by the

roots. the only thing keeping me going is advil.

what i don't understand is...if i'm healthy (i don't get sick anymore

since i started drinking raw milk), and if my body is so capable of

warding off infections, why can't my body just wipe out this root

canal infection???

a part of me just wants to see what will happen if i continue to do

nothing (except take advil). will the pain go away by itself? will

it get worse?

inasmuch as i've had root canals performed on 2 sep occasions with

this tooth, ($$$$$), and have had 2 different crowns for it

($$$$$$), and this tooth is now worth thousands of dollars, i just

want to be rid of it.

a lesson learned.

would still like more opinions and advice if anyone else out there

has any.

thanks.

The immune system's grasp can't reach into the dentin tubules-- so a

great immune system can contain the infection in the tooth and prevent

it from spreading into a systemic infection throughout the body, but

so long as the tooth is there it will stay infected. Although there

are some alternative treatments being explored like laser that might

be able to annihilate the infection.

thanks.

so i guess i have to break down and make an appt. with the holistic

dentist guy.

it doesn't make sense to go back to the endodontist (the one who did

the root canal) for the surgery she wants to do (going in thru the gums

to clean out the infection), does it? or does it?

and what will the holistic dentist do? an extraction?

anyone ever have any experience with this?

thanks so much.

Unless it's a front tooth (in which case you might want to be more

conservative for aesthetic reasons, although your health would still

be the bottom line...) I would get an extraction but I would make sure

that the dentist is familiar with Price's extraction protocol which

includes taking out the periodontal ligament and the first mm or 2mm

of the bone, so that the bone underneath regenerates and fills up the

socket clean.

I would call PPNF (www.price-pottenger.org) and find out who in your

area is on their list, and if the dentist your aren't going to isn't

on the list and is the only holistic dentist in your area, make sure

you get the protocol (relatively simple) from PPNF and ask your

denstist to have it done that way.

It's a simple, easy, and painless addition to the normal procedure

that will make sure you don't have future problems with it.

What about gargling with food-grade hydrogen peroxide; I've heard several

positive reports on it's ability to reverse dental problems.

thanks SO much. i called price-pottenger and got a

referral...there's one in my state, an hour away. i called and the

the earliest appt. i could get is sat., but he should be calling me

today to discuss the situation.

i tried to get a copy of the book the Root Canal Cover-up but it's

not in our library system, not at the health food store, and not at

Borders or B & N.

anyway, we'll see what happens, and i'll keep you posted.

thanks again for all your help. i really apreciate it. :-)
