Guest guest
Hey Caregivers -- some of you probably remember that several months ago I imposed my " gentle, nonagressive, nonthreatening " self on the NH staff and " requested " they slowly remove the risperdol from my dad's meds. Actually, he is in a wonderful place -- the staff all think he's pretty terrific and he just beams for all the girls! I took dad to the doctor on the 13th. His right hand was clenched so tightly the staff could not properly cleanse it, and his neck, chest, back, and arms were to tight it looked as if he were bench pressing a 1,000 pounds (across the pond = ?) Doctor said he wanted to try risperdol again. I said OK but I was convinced he not only had Lewy Body disease but that the last time he was on this med he did not do well. I told my contact at the NH he was to be well monitored -- I knew they would contact me with any problems. I got the call today. He's been yelling, hitting, and biting if able. He's been up more and much more agitated. He's now coming off the risperdol (again) and we are l
