Robin,

<As I mentioned, I'm having to take a round of parasite medicine --

basically poisons of course -- and it's obviously an extra load on

my very recently recovered liver.>

Perhaps you have very good reasons for wanting to get rid of your parasites

immediately (sorry, I haven't been following this thread), but if your

symptoms aren't too severe or overwhelming, you might want to give those

critters (and your recovering liver) some time. Time for what? Well, there

is a school of thought that says parasites are there for a purpose--namely

cleaning up dead or decaying tissue--and that when their job is done they

move out on their own. Again, my apologies if this has been covered

already.

I have also heard this - that some parasites serve a purpose and that if you

concentrate on your general health, and obtain good health, the parasites

will leave. I watched a documentary last week on parasites that mentioned

studies in a Central American country where most of the children have

parasites. The hypothesis was that these children, who were free of

allergies such as hayfever, and eczema, and a few other things (can't

remember what) would tend to develop the same if their parasites were

eliminated. They got rid of the parasites and the allergies etc. began

cropping up. I wondered if they considered the allergies etc. being in

reponse to the medication used to eliminate the parasites, but I think it

was said that when the parasites reinfested, the allergies disappeared.

Having said this, we've all had symptoms of parasites for a few years -

grinding teeth, itchy nose, ears and eyes and bum, and I would like to get

rid of them.

I also heard somewhere that crohn's disease is rare in places where people

have parasites.
