Now you got me thinking...an amphibious model...sounds workable....or,

how about one of those cool Hummers? Wow, they are just the neatest and

a bit intimidating as well. Guess first I should check to see if they

come complete with a hood ornament or not, for " Nasty " of course.

hehehe

Hugs to ya-

Sandie,

Hey, now that I have a few extra hours available in my day, maybe I should

head to Toronto and grab Courage? Haven't got the foggiest on how to obtain

those horse tranquilizers though. Any suggestions? By the way, my car has

wings.

Betty-

Thank you for sharing the phone call with us. Sounds like there are

many positive things happening with you and your mom. Amazing how when

we surrender our struggles...how they seem to work themselves out.

I know you have your faith, so please know you are in my prayers, and

there is such power in prayer.

May you feel His arms giving you strength and sending your mom the

comfort she needs.

Hugs to you-

Sandie,

Yesterday, my son's GF was going through a magazine. Suddenly, she said to

me, " Betty, here's a T-shirt for you. Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder

and your hand over my mouth. " We would have been rolling around laughing had

we not been going 60 mph on the freeway. I got out for a whole three hours

yesterday and went to Olympia to get a few items. It felt soooooooo strange. I

still watch the clock for eating schedule, etc, and feel the urge to run in

and check on Mom while I'm on the computer.

Yesterday afternoon I had a phone call from Mom's DR at the BU (Behavioral

Unit).

She was very soft spoken. Asked several questions and why I believed she had

LBD. When the question of meds came up, she listened as I retraced the path

we have already taken, then was very receptive as I mentioned several which I

thought might work. We talked of Memetine, briefly, and discussed the need

for an antidepressant. Today, in about 30 minutes, the Valley General team who

will be working with Mom, will be calling for a little mini-conference call.

I have butterflies.

The most wondrous of all things, I failed to mention, happened yesterday

morning. I don't claim to have a green thumb, but I LOVE flowers. This year, I

have been trying to grow a gardenia (more of a southern plant, I think). So

far, there have been five buds taking weeks to form, and yesterday the first one

blossomed. I take that as a good sign. Just thought I'd share some of my

smaller joys.

Hugs,

Betty

Isn't it fantastic that the professionals at the BU are willing to listen to the

expert on your mother's care. On second thoughts, it's a bid sad that this

doesn't happen all over.

Keep up the good work, you're doing wonderfully

,

Thanks for cheering me on from the other side of the world. All the love and

prayers have been deeply felt. Spent the morning looking up the meds Mom has

been placed on and waiting for a call from the court as the hearing for Mom's

involuntary commitment is today. Fortunately, I can testify by phone. I

really wanted to go up, but Mom is still pretty delusional and just beginning to

settle down.

Can't wait for your introduction. Everyone is so excited. Wow, in just a

week I'll be headed east, flying low to the ground, cruisin' to some sounds,

lookin' for the mounds, headin' for the grounds of our gathering. See ya soon!

As you are in Canada, I do believe if you were to stop at the local

hairstylist, have your hair dyed black and cut really really short, that

would be the beginning. Then off to plastic surgery for a hooter job,

(unless a sex change would be more appropriate NAHHHHH!!) and I think

you are set to re-enter the US. Course, you would still have Courage in

your car, probably kicking and screaming, unless you have done a fine

job of keeping her sedated - you can't help yourself to the

tranquilizers, you HAVE to drive. Hope some of this pans out.

heheheheh

Wow, the explanation of the ocean and all surrounding tourist

attractions from you almost made me cry. Knowing all its beauty is just

a drive away from you, and that you are centered in the midst of this

would be a dream come true. I have never been to WA, and I now see it

in my future. YES, I do believe I would like to have a travel brochure.

It all sounds totally awesome. Someday, God willing, I will see the

ocean...and I know it will be an event to cherish. Thank you Betty!!

And thank you for the open invitation to stay at your place, that in

itself, sounds wonderful!

Hugs, in cyber-space, for only a week...until we meet~

....the Gardenia - in the midst of the storm, His hand shows you He is

working to resolve the struggles. Isn't that amazing! I have also

noticed a mum, given to me by 2 dear neighbors when my dad passed away

(of which, both moved this summer :-( which makes me sad) has had a few

blooms on it, and just yesterday, one of the blooms opened up. Hmmm,

call it a coincedence??? No, I think your Gardenia and my Mum, both are

gifts from a very important person watching over us.

Thank you for sharing your outing with me. I do know it is hard to

break habits, feeling that you should be fixing lunch, giving meds. etc,

yet reality is, you are now free to have " Betty time " .

I am so proud of you for accepting the gift that has been given to you.

I do believe, this is a reward for all the hard work you have done - you

go girl!!

Hugs to you, and you are still in my prayers.

You are just the sweetest lady around. Such a huge heart full of

compassion and the kindest words. Thank you for showing me light at the

end of this tunnel and for accepting my decision of moving forward.

Yes, you were right, some times it became tough to relive past memories,

but mainly for the fact I wasn't able to go to each caregiver and help

them through their pain. My heart aches for each loved one that has

passed, and for those still living with LBD, I will continue to walk the

journey with you. My prayers will be with you, and new ones will start

this week as you trek across the states to meet up so we can take that

promised picture of you and I. Thank you for your support, and for the

kind words you have given me. :-)

Love, hugs, and many prayers Betty-

Thank you for the welcome and you words of support! I certainly feel

as though I have made a good connection here and I am so glad to

have found you. I feel as though I am not so alone with this now.
