I see this a lot in working with people. As Americans we've been on

low/fake fat diets for so long the gallbladder has literally atrophied in size.

One

of the most common surgeries now is gallbladder...is it any wonder.

I find everyone is different and consequently needs something different to

rejuvenate their liver/gallbladder. I would work with a

naturopath/acupuncturist/nutritionist or someone similar that can test you

specifically whether it be

through muscle testing, pulse testing, neural lingual testing or whatever and

determine if you need to support, detox or drainage for the different organs.

What supplements to use whether they be nutritional supplements, herbs or

homeopathic remedies. All are good, all work based on your individual needs.

It's important to make sure all elimination pathways are working so when

dumping toxins they have an exit route.

How much fat can you take at one time without undue discomfort?

An egg?

A piece of bacon?

A smoothie made with coconut oil?

A nice hunk of roast with attached fat?

Some steamed veggies with butter on them?

Berries with full fat cream?

Anything?

Or, asked another way, what fatty foods make you feel ill?

A tablespoon of cod liver oil?

What results did you get when you did the liver/gallbladder flushes?

Did you feel better after doing them? Whose recipe did you follow?

How long have you been trying to transition to the NT diet? Were you

eating low-fat/no-fat before that?

Need help transitioning to NT diet

Hello.

I'm trying to transition to the NT diet and I'm having trouble due to

problems digesting fats. I'm working with a nutritionist and am taking

digestive enzymes that include lipase but I'm not noticing a

difference. The problem is that fats sometimes make me feel mildly

nauseas. I also have some sensation, not quite pain, in the

gallbladder area. I've done lots of gall bladder flushing in the past

which I believe has helped in some ways but perhaps has stressed my

liver/gallbladder.

A urine test shows problems digesting both fats and carbs so having

more carbs and less fats in my diet is not a great option plus I

believe that healthy fats are a good idea!

Have others on this list had trouble with fats? What have you done to

support your liver and gallbladder and to get NT to work for you?

I'd appreciate any and all advice.

Thanks,

Sol

Sol,

There are a few tricks to enzyme therapy according to the Loomis Institute:

1) Aside from the digestive enzymes you take with meals, try taking a SINGLE

enzyme first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, and then throughout the

day when your stomach is reasonably empty. I myself have done 6 or more quality

caps of lipase. This helps the body " catch up. "

2) It's important to know when to build up the organ/gland in question and when

to detoxify or cleanse. Try rebuilding your liver with appropriate foods. Milk

thistle and dandelion greens are prime builders.

3) Too many carbs stress the liver. The liver needs plenty of good, high quality

protein in order to break down noxious substances in the body. It cannot do its

job if it doesn't get enough protein. I use Jay Robb protein powder, which

solely consists of non-GMO egg whites, stevia, and flavorings without MSG or

junk. Robb, the author of The Fat Burning Diet, is committed to providing high

quality protein. I especially like his chocolate flavor (which is great plain,

in water) and his vanilla (which I prefer with fruit for smoothies).

4) While the kidneys need fat in order to function, try to get a balance between

enough fat without stressing the liver. I would increase my intake of lipase

whenever I eat fats. You might also consider taking Choline and AF-Betafood,

both from Standard Process, to help with fat digestion until your liver gets

stronger.

For a short while I had trouble digesting fats, and found that taking

Swedish Bitters helps, I found it at my local health food store. I

imagine eating something bitter before your meal would help, such as

dandelion leaves. But the Bitters did help me, and as my body adjusted

slowly to my new diet I was able to digest fats much better.

,

I'm doing some experimentation right now.

Avocado fat seems to be no problem.

Coconut cream and coconut oil ARE problematic.

Will check out fat from chicken and beef and report back. I'll also

answer your other questions when I have more time to write.

Thanks,

Sol
