Sprouting wheat berries

OK I started soaking some wheat berries last Saturday. It has been a week

now. I thought I was suppose to keep them covered with water for 3 or 4

days and so I did (trying to remember to rinse 2 to 3 times a day) and

nothing was happening so I read that no I was suppose have them in a dark

cupboard drained but continue to rinse after the first 24 hours of soaking

(immersed in water) so I drained them and put them in the cupboard and

rinsed every so often...probably not as often as I should have. A couple

times when I had them soaking they smelled bad but I rinsed and they seemed

to smell OK again...well they smelled bad again this morning but I rinsed

and they smell OK now and they have little sprouts but I don't know what to

do with them and I'm afraid they aren't any good...that they will make me

sick. I was originally going to make the sprouted grain crackers in NT but

I read since that nobody likes those...now should I just throw my sprouts

away cause maybe they are toxic anyway or does anyone know what I should do

with an almost full quart jar full of wheat berries? (About 3 cups before

soaking and sprouting.)

A Newbie here just trying to get started with something simple but maybe not

so simple after all...

Thanks, Sandy
