I've used it -- in fact I'm still using it. It's great. But any additive-free bar soap will work just fine for much, much, much less money. I believe they actually recommend Ivory for people who don't tolerate the cinnamon oil or other oils they use to flavor their soaps, and you could also use a good bar of true olive oil castille soap. Soap is definitely the way to go for brushing your teeth! -
Guest guest
I've been using baking soda, occasionally with hydrogen peroxide, to brush my teeth. Are there any advantages to tooth soap? Thanks. Tom Idol wrote: >Ann- > > > >>I hope this is a question that is allowed on this board >> >> > >No! It's not allowed! Guest guest
I alternate between using mint-flavored baking soda with peroxide (freshens the breath nicely in the am) and green olive oil soap (no additives, it's from Greece). The soap does a great job of taking off tarter, but doesn't feel " minty fresh. " On 9/15/05, L. It sounds intriguing, but I don't know of anyone who has used it that I can talk to before trying it.>> Hi- I used it for about a year and it didn't change anything for me. I have your basic " bad teeth/bad gums " . With multiple large pockets i had hoped for some improvement but after a year nada. I actually just had to have a tooth pulled about a month ago due to a large deep pocket. I still think that it may be healthier than regular toothpaste but i myself never had any of the touted benefits. I am now using a toothpaste with tee tree oil and am almost totally GF which i hope will serve me better. Kathy A.
Guest guest
I've read about this soap and it does sound pretty good although I've been using baking soda and peroxide for years and that works great for a very low price. I also use Pascalite Clay once in a while, it keeps the tartar off your teeth. Judy --- In , Idol <Idol@c...> wrote: > Ann- > > >I hope this is a question that is allowed on this board > > No! Guest guest
Kathy, I had gum disease about 10 years ago and went to a dentist that practised the Keyes method. That is a method of taking a slide of your gums and looking at it under a microscope to determine how much bacteria is in your gums. Then the dentist medicates it and gives you instructions on what to do when you get home. I had to buy a rubber tip (they also have them on some toothbrushes). He told me to mix baking soda and peroxide to make a paste. Brush my teeth with that mixture and use the rubber tip to make sure it gets deep down into my gums. Then rinse your mouth out with water and then rinse again with peroxide. Swish it around for about a minute. After about 3 months, my pockets were much smaller and each checkup now is great, no more pockets. I've kept this regimen ever since except for swishing with the peroxide, that wasn't necessary after the first year. If you follow this method, your pockets will shrink. Also, my dentist told me not to chew gum, any kind. Not only does it ruin the teeth but also disrupts your digestion. And always brush after meals. Are there any advantages to tooth soap? Thanks. Supposedly soap is better at removing tartar. Also, I think baking soda may be too abrasive to use regularly, though I don't know and haven't tried it. I definitely feel my teeth are much smoother and cleaner when using soap than when I used to use toothpaste, anyway, for whatever that's worth. -
Guest guest
What are the other essential oils in tooth soap? I occasionally use lavender castille soap but have no love for the taste. Is this better?
