Heh! I would love to start a study group in WAPF-oriented nutrition at my church, but I'm afraid many would be afraid to look at something that didn't call almost exclusively for prayer (instead of changing diet) and diverge from the dogmatic Food Guide Pyramid. OTOH, there is a place in the Bible where it says that the sick should call for the " elders " and be anointed with oil and be prayed over with laying of hands. Why oil, do you suppose? ;-) Actually, I'm not against praying for the sick, and do it myself every time I get an email from the prayer list. I often pray things like " Help the doctors and technicians to do no harm " and " Help the family and friends of ________________ to be able to figure out how they can help, and what changes need to be made in _______________'s life. " I keep wanting to talk to the folks requesting prayer, to see how they've been eating and see if they might be interested in making some changes. Sometimes they take an interest in the WAPF message, and other times they look at me like I'm crazy for advocating eating animal fat and not believing in the healthfulness of low cholesterol. Other times you can tell they just can't reconcile what I'm saying with what they've been practicing ever since the food pyramid was introduced. I'm sure you've all been there...or you will be one day. A 4th generation Okie in the Bible Belt :-)
