Guest guest
Hmm, pancit tastes good. I made sphaghetti. Or rather my yaya made the spaghetti while I supervised the cooking and shooed the boys out of the kitchen. There is something about pasta that brings out the kids in all of us. I made pancit for Christmas and gave away pancit to my neighbors for Christmas. Guess what we got for New Year? All kinds of sphaghetti from the same neighbors I gave pancit to, so we still have an excess of pasta. I trust that it can all be consumed by tomorrow. Tomato based mainly although we have one small pyrex dish that's cream based. Sheesh -- I think I will stick to vegetables and salads for the next few days.. I had a wonderful New Year, mainly. Did the Peace Meditation and Burning Bowl with a friend. We sang the Prayer of St. Francis because for some mysterious reason, our Catholic upbringning came out. We forgot the words of the Peace Song and sang another peace prayer instead -- and the one we could remember was the prayer of St. Francis. Very healing. Also went to TOPPP in the evening. After the meditation and the toasting, we gave out ampaos full of one peso coins. It was such fun. We stopped this group of teenagers who were walking towards EDSA, and we were so pleased by their happy faces. Then right in front of Don Bosco Chapel, we tried giving our ampaos to two decent looking (read -- church-going type) men. They run away! Oh well, we still had fun. We gave the ampaos to a vendor and to a security guard who eagerly approached the car to receive our good luck envelopes. BTW, every day can be peace meditation day. Also every day can be a burning bowl day. Also, you can still do your burning bowl ritual before January 29-- this year's lunar new year. Oh, and I haven't done my annual cleaning and clearing out. I usually do that right before the lunar new year. If I don't get it done by the lunar new year, I rationalize it by saying I can get it done by the Astrological New Year. And if not -- there's still Easter. But seriously speaking, it's great to do periodic cleaning/clearing out of old stuff. It keeps the house orderly, and more importantly, it keeps the energy moving. Any time would be a good time although, of course, it's fun to go along with the new year rituals (gregorian, lunar and astrological -- oh yes -- the church calendar -- Easter!). Again, Happy New Year (Gregorian)! Cheers!
