Happy Chinese New Year, again.

Am posting this for those who haven't seen the article in PDI. I trust that

this article written by Rev. Sison (TOPPP -- Philippines) will perk you

up. BTW, although he is no longer actively into astrology, he does dabble in it

once in a while for fun, and he's often extremely accurate in his predictions.

Year of the Dog: Idealism takes over from cynicism

THE Year of the Fire Dog ushers in a period of spirited optimism,

industry, growth, expansion and regeneration.

Expect idealism to take over from cynicism, fidelity to succeed deceit,

and true leadership to triumph over cockiness.

There will be peace and harmony in the home, heartfelt support for noble

causes and sincere concern for the national interest.

Prepare for unconventional but effective changes because controversial

issues will finally be heard.

In numerology, 2006 is equivalent to the number 8 which denotes prosperity

and healing-mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is a period where we work

on our sense of values, crusade for peace and justice and champion projects that

benefit humanity.

Loyalty, fidelity and domesticity are basic to the dog. Even those who

would never consider settling down might find the concept suddenly appealing.

Romance can come at the most unexpected moment.

It is also the time to realize plans, start a new business or just expand.

New career moves are likewise encouraged.

Although the year promises to be auspicious, it will not happen without

earnest involvement, commitment to accomplish something and hard work.

Now don't forget to have fun along the way because sometimes, the dog can

be so doggone serious.

Outlook for 2006

Rat: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996

A very busy year for the rat, both socially and professionally. There will

be lots of activities involving unexpected opportunities. Challenges will serve

to form a solid foundation for the greater good. Do not take your loved ones for

granted. Say cheese!

Ox: 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997

Your reliability, industry and common sense will work wonders for you this

year. Complications will not prosper and your path will be clear of obstacles

and opposition. Your knowledge will expand and leading you to your true place.

Expect someone special to enter your life. You have the patience of the ox and

this year, it will pay off.

Tiger: 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998

This year will bring you good fortune. You will have to toe the line for a

while, but it will help accomplish goals easily. Expect influential people to

assist you. Unattached tigers will find partners this year. Tiger, tiger,

burning bright...

Rabbit: 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999

A smooth year for the rabbit. You will straighten out past problems, gain

the recognition you relish and experience more gains. Be prepared to make

decisions quickly. Time is of the essence. Hop happily, rabbit.

Dragon: 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000

It is time for the dragon to listen, consult and investigate. Lay down a

firm foundation of your heart's desires. Definitely not a good period for

confrontation and argumentation. Use your dragon magic to multiply your goods

exceedingly.

Snake: 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001

Opportunities are knocking at your door. Now is an excellent time to use

your charm and launch new ideas. Don't forget to make room for the opinions of

loved ones. Skeptical snake, the year of the Dog will bring many significant and

dramatic changes in your life.

Horse: 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002

A financially good year for the horse. It's also a good time for

recuperation and recovery. Rather than going it alone, strive for team work.

Sharing the credit brings harmony and goodwill. Romance is in the air. Stop

horsing around; go for it!

Sheep (Goat): 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003

It's okay to be optimistic but the sheep should take care and stay on the

conservative side. Most of the year will be satisfying and rewarding. Yes, there

will be challenges, but you will easily find ways to handle them. Just don't

around you. It's time to do your homework and lay the groundwork for an expanded

and more evolved you. This is the year when you could get serious with a

relationship (someone new or someone you already know). No more monkey business,

please!

Rooster: 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005

Be prepared for a lot of entertaining and travel. The rooster continues to

prosper and recover lost ground. Your plans are easily realized. Your personal

life could be clouded by some secret unhappiness or brooding. This must be

addressed and not swept under the rug, so to speak. It's time to pay attention

to those who have been around a long time. Let all your crowing be the start of

a new dawn!

Dog: 1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

Now is the time to achieve what you have long wanted to do. This is your

year! Decisions will have to be made and they have to be made quickly. Don't

procrastinate. If you stay too long on the diving board, you may just change

your mind and not take the plunge. Take a deep breath and dive. A good year for

a dog to fall in love, make a serious commitment, or simply change partners.

Doggone it!

Pig: 1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995

This is the time for the pig to lay a strong foundation by gathering

knowledge and practicing perseverance. Up to now, your impatience has gotten you

nowhere with your loved ones and associates. Not to mention with yourself. Don't

be a pigheaded bore. Go out and enjoy yourself!
