Guest guest
in New Jersey: In every and each assessment they make of you, let them not forget your assets. Can I mention a few in case they have been overlooked? ness, spontaneity, resilience (taking it easy), alertness (quick reactions), empathy, cosiness, curiosity, helpfulness, etc, etc. José PS. Ok, I am off-topic. May I go on just a little more, ? Maybe it would be better to go off-line, in the interest of the others. I sense I'm exposing myself too much. Or you? Anyway, back to poetry. I wrote the following lines some time ago. It may not apply to you entirely, but somehow I associate the main idea of that poem to you. I hope you won't be too angry with me if I dedicate it to you anew, for just in case. Excuse me for the poor translation into English. The word " train " in the Portuguese language in Brazil can be associated with " life " , with " one's life " . << May be things have changed Or maybe I have succeeded In not looking old enough For on buses Very few children, if any Will rise to show me their seat. But when I was a boy My mother would make a point Of reminding me to stand And give up my place to the aged. She would never bother to ask me If I were tired Or if standing in the corridor Made me feel vulnerable In the case of a collision. I would obey her With that silly pride of a scout That, however, never made me look different In the eyes of those ungrateful seniors. I never knew how to tell her How powerful I felt By sitting at the window during the ride And gazing at the world outside As it were at my feet. That is maybe why Along these years I have allowed so many people to take liberties In my affairs. That is maybe why It has taken me so many years to realize That I was all the time Entitled to the place of my choice On this train.>> JC > > > > > Ah yes, Scotch.
