I neglected to tell you when you asked me about it again that you might have to take #1 with the #2. It says so in his literature and I may have mentioned it way back, but one absorbs and the other moves. -- Pleasure is a nutrient - Mati Senerchia

It won't chelate metals to my knowledge so won't take the Hg out of your body, but it IS great for settling intestinal pain at times when you eat something toxic or food that you are allergic to. I have used it when my stomach/GI tract is upset by some food or other (including gluten, which I'm allergic to, and don't eat anymore) and it works like a charm. I still use it sporadically. We had a thread about bentonite/pascalite clay on the GFCFNN list recently, and I posted some comments from Dr. Peat as well as some abstracts from him showing that metals in clay (aluminum, I think) are liberated by HCl *in vitro*. Peat said he'd rather use charcoal than clay. Yet so many folks are getting relief from clay and it's not completely clear what happens to the metals in clay *in vivo*. Plus, the source is probably quite important. I've never been plugged up by it, but then I don't tend to have that issue as a rule. Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Guest guest
If it doesn't chelate metals and if I'm already taking fiber supplement and drinking kavass for constipation then I think the clay is not such a good idea. I just started drinking kombucha.Perhaps it will also help heal my colon. Never had this problem until metals got redistributed last year. Forgive the pun but it is a pain in the butt. Guest guest
Do you actually have firsthand experience with this? Did you take chlorella and have evidence that it actually detoxed you of mercury? Thanks, just curious. Guest guest
What kind of detox symptoms did you experience and were you taking any other supplements or were you on any detox regimens at the time, or just chlorella? Aug/Sept issue of Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients has a sign up agreement for a clinical study with Chelorex, a natural heavy metal chelator. Isn't clear wheather you pay for hair analysis or not but the Chelorex is free. Impressive article. Got TLDP at Whole Foods for anyone interested.
