D. Gershon, M.D. is the author of the " The Second Brain " . I think he

is credited for bringing this whole idea to the fore.. I have the book -- it

says under the title, " A Groundbreaking New Understanding of Nervous

Disorders of the Stomach and the Intestine " . He submits that we have a whole

other set of neurotransmitters in our digestive tract. I didn't read the

book, just skimmed it. It's a lot of information -- very specific. ~Robin

Robin,

I've added it to the cart at Amazon. You people have to stop recommending

books. I've got at least 30 sitting in the to be read stack and I don't

think I'll ever catch up.

Seriously -- thanks for the info. I'm very, very interested in this. My

daughter " stores " all of her emotional upset in her gut and she has been

diagnosed with IBS.

Ron,

There are thousands of kids with a preliminary diagnosis of IBS, then via an

endoscopy they found the measles virus in the gut, the same one as found in

the MMR....

I believe my daughter could be oneof them.....

Very interesting. What are they doing about it? Treatment?

I didn't go into it in my previous post but after months of her suffering we

were able to completely eliminate Kira's symptoms in one day by eliminating

everything but meat, fats, eggs and fibrous veggies from her diet. It was

so dramatic that it changed the course of her college career -- she

originally wanted to use her biology degree to teach high school but is now

interested in finding research work in nutrition related fields. She just

graduated last December and is in the middle of " finding the job " .
