Guest guest
Courage Just read your post. One thing that really urked me, while caregiving for my dad, was that is full of choices. Some situations are handed to us, and we are not given a choice. Misery is a choice, and this neighbor of yours..she has a choice NOT to attack you. Your mother, on the other hand, this is a situation without a choice. So, when things happen, like with your neighbor for instance, the world comes crashing in. I just don't understand people sometimes. Why in the world would she want to torment people the way she does! I do believe that some people are so miserable, with their own life that it is not beyond them to attempt to bring others down with them. I am proud of you. I am proud of you for not acting on impulse, and for not dumping all the crap back at her. Obviously your parents did a wonderful job of raising you and instilling the values that " Two wrongs don't make a right " . Please come here to vent, even if it is not about LBD...we are here for you, for your life, whatever that entails. Sending you some of your strength that you so freeling and willingly give to others. Love and hugs- Sandie
Guest guest
Courage, Have you considered reporting her to adult social services? Or whatever group deals with menatlly ill adults..... IMHO - She seems to have stepped over the line from mean to mentally unbalanced. I know people have a reluctance to label someone 'mentally ill'. Is that so different from our LO who deny, and want us to deny, their dementia? If this person needs to be on meds and monitored - the sooner the better. Not to be on a soap box but, from what I've learned about LBD the sooner the individuals are treated the longer the functioning level lasts. I won't speak for anyone else but, it seems like I did some denial about the changes in my Mom, Found other things to balme it on..... We made commants about her having problems 2 years before the Dx. I'm not going to flog myself for that because it does mimic other conditions and 'they' don't want us to know. I guess I just want to say our education efforts could also point out the benefits of early detection. Thanks THeresa (in D.C. Mom in WI) > Hi All, > > I'm sorry if this this message isn't about LBD but I am so F%$#^%$ mad right now I can hardly see straight. > I got up this morning, let my dogs out for their constitutional and was greated by a stinking pile of rotting leaves, dirt and the Lord only knows what floating around on various sized puddles of stinky water that are being skimmed by every flying insect we have available here in TO - all this thanks to my Nasty neighbour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
How about contacting your local newspaper? Or, have you tried a hidden camera? I still say give me her number and I will call and harass her. LOL Shirley
Guest guest
Hahaha! Can you imagine all of us living in Courage's neighborhood?!? The nasty old woman neighbor wouldn't stand a chance! OH my goodness! I'm siting laughing like Price!! LOL Beth L. > How about contacting your local newspaper? Or, have you tried a > hidden camera? Guest guest
Thanks Sandie! The Co-op manager has set up a face-to-face meeting on Friday with my Nasty neighbour but I don't think this will solve anything. Rather than taking a decisive role the co-op is just paying lip service hoping that it will go away. I plan on going in there with my facts written on paper (times I have called security, etc) and let my nasty neighbour sink herself - won't have to give her much rope as it's hard to get a word in edgewise with Nasty anyway! I could never stand a bully and at the end of the day if those who are around you or who hold the power to decide sit back and do nothing the bully wins - I suspect the same thing will happen here...but at least I tried.
