At one point I was running three Excaliburs and one American Harvester/Harvest Maid. They all make noise, it's just a question of your tolerance. Although I will note that one of the three Excaliburs was *significantly* noisier than the other two, so I didn't use that one if I could avoid it. Maybe Heidi's American Harvester is a similar anomaly - unless she's just more sensitive to constant humming noises. In other words, go ahead and buy that used American Harvester. If it turns out to be a noisy one, just move it to a less-used room. It's not like it will be running 24/7, ya know? MFJ If I have to be a grownup, can I at least be telekinetic too? They don't look at all difficult to build, and would be totally quiet! The one plan I saw didn't let the sun hit the food though ... I'd like one that sits in direct sun, which would keep bacteria from growing and maybe kill mold spores? Heidi Jean
