They're all " noisy " , but either American Harvester/Harvest Maid or

Excalibur all work fine.

At one point I was running three Excaliburs and one American

Harvester/Harvest Maid. They all make noise, it's just a question of

your tolerance. Although I will note that one of the three Excaliburs

was *significantly* noisier than the other two, so I didn't use that one if

I could avoid it. Maybe Heidi's American Harvester is a similar

anomaly - unless she's just more sensitive to constant humming noises. ;)

In other words, go ahead and buy that used American Harvester. If it

turns out to be a noisy one, just move it to a less-used room. It's not

like it will be running 24/7, ya know?

If I have to be a grownup, can I at least be telekinetic too?

Someday I'd like to build a solar dehydrator. They don't look

at all difficult to build, and would be totally quiet! The one

plan I saw didn't let the sun hit the food though ... I'd like

one that sits in direct sun, which would keep bacteria

from growing and maybe kill mold spores?
