Guest guest
Re Sherry: . . . her doctors now refuse to refer her to a gastro or hepatologist and her insurance won't pay for her to see one without a referal.. .. . All I can think is that this is a bunch of creeps determined to please the insurance company by keeping their " cost averages " down. Could they be receiving bonuses for doing so? This seems to constitute a legally actionable offense. Does anyone here know of an advocacy group that might look into this situation? Unfortunately, when we are ill, we often don't have the physical, mental, or financial resources to track down sources for help. What insurance company do you have? Going directly to the top level of the insurance company you can reach would seem the first step to try. Does your area have a newspaper or television editorialist/reporter of the battling, expose-writing sort? This is serious stuff. You MUST have treatment. The statistics for AIH left untreated are not good. As for whether AIH exists, the standard, recognized world-wide medical organizations and institutions certainly believe it exists. There is no lack of documentation available from a wide range of sources. That part can be fairly easily fought, unless you have a doctor who, for his/her own reasons, will benefit from insisting otherwise. I'm puzzled by this situation, and worried. If we can just find the right key to unlock it --- .
Guest guest
[] Generally (but certainly not always), a male is more capable of putting emotion aside and making a hard decision. ~~~I really feel that kind of philosophy stems from the fact that women show emotion more readily than men. That's a problem seen everywhere in society - people jumping to conclusions because of what they consider to be proof of something that isn't proof at all. Just because women become emotional more easily, (and show it more easily), doesn't mean men don't feel the emotion just as strongly. And, just because women show their emotions more often, doesn't mean they can't make objective decisions regardless of that fact. Actually, I would guess that possibly women are more capable of putting emotion aside and making a hard decision. Look at the fact that most violent crime is committed by men. That doesn't show much " putting emotion aside " , when it comes to making the decision whether or not to commit a violent act!
