This was a wonderful group a little while ago. Well, okay, it still

is. When I joined there was lots of positiveness, affirmations, and it

was uplifting to read.

Lately it hasn't been that way, and as someone struggling with

negativity, self-criticism, and depression, not to mention lots of

stress and negativity from work, I'm not finding that I'm enjoying

reading this digest any more.

Are we going to go back to the positive thinking?

I absolutely believe we need to be supportive, but a support group like

it's become (a dumping ground for negativity) isn't what I need or want.

, I have been meaning to send more affirmations to

the group. I recently returned to work and haven't had a lot

of time for posting. I understand your request and yes, it

has been a dumping ground for negativity but at the moment,

several members are having problems all at the same time.

When that happens, it helps to have an outlet to talk about

those problems. PJ has had both physical and computer

problems (I think! She's free to correct me if necessary lol).

I can't make promises I'm not absolutely sure I can keep but

I will promise to TRY to post a few affirmations daily as time

allows. Over this coming weekend, I should have a lot of time

to do so. I'll post some tonight. Also for reasons unknown

to me, my SBC Yahoo mailboxes have been rejecting some of

my posts and I've had to resend them two and three times. If

some of my posts come through multiple times, forgive me. It's

a temporary server problem with yahoo. :)

I understand all that you're saying here, and I agree with you in some ways.

I apologise that I haven't had time to post positive things like I should.

Maybe my time will free up soon and I'll have more time to devote to this list.

But I do like the freedom that some feel to post when they are feeling bad,

or had a bad day, or they just need to vent. Someone always has a word of

encouragement for them - I am always uplifted, even when I read where someone

else is having a bad time, the responses are always positive. When someone

answers back that " you can make it " , or " I'm proud of you " , or " hang in there " ,

we

never know how many we touch or who needed to hear those words right at that

time.

So hang in here with us. We all go through our down times - but we bounce

back. Stronger than ever!!!

Love you always,

, Max, and Group Members,

Yes, there does seem to be some computer glitches the last couple of

weeks. I'm having trouble with SBC Yahoo and with Yahoo. Not sure why, either.

We certainly try to keep things more positive around here, but as a

caring person, as I am, ...I haven't wanted to stop any individuals from sharing

some of their stressful times with us. It is because I do understand, and

because " I've been there too before " , that I have allowed the affirmations group

to be somewhat of a dumping ground lately.

I too prefer to try to keep things on a more positive note!! And,

if things continue for much longer, ...then we may have to do something -- like

limiting how often these posted messages are sent in (that are on a more

negative bend).

I guess I just thought that by being supportive and kind to others,

....that people would be able to get some strength and courage from that, and

begin to lift themselves up more as time went on.

I am open to suggestions from other group members to this topic.

Let's face it -- ALL of us have " down " times, or times when it seems that every

little thing is being dropped upon us all at once!! I know that I've been

there. But, all of us need to try and pull ourselves up, and start thinking

more positively as time goes on. We can't all be " Pollyanna's " , but maybe we

can improve or limit some of the more negative messages.

Please know that I'm saying this in love and with concern for

ALL, Hugs, PJ

One more comment on what you said here. All of us moderators do our very

best to contribute positive, uplifting stories and messages and affirmations.

Some of us have been doing this regularly for over 3 years now. Some of us for

less time. ly, we have seen co-moderators come and go around here. Anyone

that has been working or volunteering in a " care-taking field " knows that people

occasionally get burned out! I know we have had some very special, very

wonderful co-moderators that just finally had " given all that they could " , and

so they left the group, or took a vacation from co-moderating. We have a couple

of co-moderators who have stayed on much longer than maybe they wanted to,

because I have needed them so much. (THANK YOU!!!) I greatly appreciate all

the co-moderators, past, present, and future. I also appreciate all the

affirmation members as so many of you have contributed as well! And, guys -- I

can't do it all. I need all of you to help out also!

All of us get bogged down in " our daily lives " from time to time as

well. If you are in a very good place at this point, and can share some of your

upbeat philosophies with us -- please join us in moderating!!! Or, even send in

an occasional article or message that has helped you in your life to the group.

This group is all volunteers, and we do this in our free time in

between regular jobs, kids, home, spouses, etc.

I know for myself, that Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita took a lot out of

me this fall, ...and I was one of the ones not directly affected, but was

helping others. I guess that is partly my excuse for not being more verbal

lately. I've been just tired and exhausted.

Anyone out there who wants to help moderate this group, or who wants

to send in positive affirmations, positive messages, or uplifting articles or

quotes -- PLEASE do so!!! We would appreciate more help and more input from the

members. Thanks so much! Hugs, PJ

Love to All, PJ
