I too have studied and have had a great interest in astrology. Not only the

affects of the new moon and motherhood. EVERY month when there is a full moon,

I become forgetful as well as off balance. The next time you girls and some of

you guys who will admit it are feeling a little strange - check to see if there

is a full moon.

For you singles out there....another tid bit to think about. I didn't pay

attention to this until after my divorce...but then paid close attention and

finally found my compatible mate. Just for fun you singles - pay attention to

the element of other people. Look for your SAME element as in fire, earth, air

and water. This way when you have those little disagreements - they are the

same elements going up against each other. As in my ex and I - fire and air -

what does air do to fire?? IT FEEDS THE FIRE AND MAKES IT GO NUTS!!! LOL

Just for fun is all!!

How interesting that you've studied this too. I've not seen fire and

air signs in disagreement except with opposites (aries-libra,

leo-aquarius, sagittarius-gemini). I'm an earth sign married to a

water sign that's not my opposite and we really balance each other

out. In fact, he's a cancer and I've noticed lately how my cycle

seems to start every month when the moon is in cancer- talk about the

alpha female- lol! Hard to believe my female cycle has catered to his

sun sign.

I agree with the element thingy though. My best friend is also an

earth sign, but most of my good friends have been cancers. In fact it

was my cancer sister-in-law who originally diagnosed the BPD traits in

my nada and my sister-in-law is very much a nurturing cancer type with

a cancer moon even.

Full moons only seemed to affect me adversely when I was younger and

dated a couple of guys with moon signs opposite my moon sign. Other

than that, I've always had more trouble with mercury retrograde that

happens three times a year for three weeks each time. That drives me

nuts and the last time it happened was when I was seeing nada and had

her coming into my life. UGH. How I hate reworking things done under

mercury retrograde. I can let you and everyone know next time that

aspect happens just because you're not suppose to sign legal documents

or buy major purchases and need to watch out for communication

problems (last time I was unaware of it and two weeks later after

fighting with my hubby and never really fighting like that, I decided

to look it up and see- oh yeah, mercury's retrograde...no matter what

we say now, we're not going to understand one another. That seems to

make it better for us.)

Hi Kere,

I didn't get into the depth as you - but cool stuff to know. I mostly enjoyed

the characteristics of the signs and the quirky things they do etc...etc. LOL

Of course ALL signs can work. The difference is, how much WORK you want to put

into the relationship. If it is constant fighting etc. somebodies ol element

is pouring over on the other and is taking over. Air signs usually cause the

most havoc if they let their air get out of control. Like too much air and

water - A HURRICANE of a problem!! LOL Cancer's are the ones of the zodiac who

can get along well with all signs and you are lucky to have one of those

sensitive males. The cancer men are the best girl friends you can have!!! LOL

They love women and connect with them so well....unless of course you have a

crab who is stuffing all of this in his shell and not showing you that wonderful

side of him!! Hopefully not!!

Earth enjoys a little water to it....makes em feel good. But too much earth put

to the water sign.....how can any agreement be reached??? IT's TOO THICK WITH

MUD and ya can't see through mud!!

I just have so much fun with the elements. The water signs are the sexual ones,

the air signs the communicative friendly ones, the earth are the hard working

grounded ones and the fire signs are the fighters of liberty and justice for all

- especially the underdog!!

Keep us informed of all the technical stuff Kere -

I had to laugh when you said the line about air and water equaling a

hurricane. That's my nada alright. She's a pisces(water) with gemini

(air)rising and a whole bunch of planets in aquarius (air). She's

undoubtably a hurricane at times. My problem is that I don't have any

water in my natal chart and therefore have issues with fully

understanding my emotions- I can be quick tempered at times which is

a biproduct of not having water, but like fire signs, I tend to get

over it pretty quickly and have been learning for a long time how to

fight fair, get things out without them being as sticky or intricate

as my pisces nada can make things out to be (Beethoveen also had no

water in his chart but was a fire sign and it's better for me as an

earth sign versus fire or air w/o water since earth signs tend to be

a little more patient than fire and air signs). None-the-less, I'll

always be attracted to water signs in my life just b/c I lack it and

need it to balance me out. Hence I've got a pisces nada, a cancer

brother, a cancer hubby, a cancer sister-in-law, a pisces

sister-in-law and a scorpio brother-in-law. My X-boyfriend that was

also a BPD was also a water sign like my nada, but a scorpio and yet

he also had a prominent gemini air aspect with his moon being in

gemini- once again a hurricane, huh? lol.

I'm not sure if I'd call the water signs sexual as much as emotionally

oriented, but I fully agree with your rendition of the other three

elements. Air is intellect/communicative, earth stable/structured,

fire ideal/life/animated. I don't think my hubby and I run into too

much mud just because I've got no water in my chart and therefore

don't always take to sogginess too well. But I would say that I've

seen muddy situations with my pisces nada and I can't say I've always

been good about digging myself out of the mud- lol. My hubby only

climbs in his shell when I show my fleas and when I see that I know I

need to work on me and step back. Otherwise, he's one of the happiest

people I know and has a wonderful sense of humor that I've yet to get

enough of every night.

By the way, you seem to know quite a bit about the elements as you've

nailed it dead on with how the elements can work together at times.

FYI, speaking of full moons and nurses and such, Hyppocrites (the

father of medicine) stated that one shouldn't have surgery during a

full moon or new moon. What happens is that people seem to bleed more

at those times and when you think of the tidal effects in the ocean

and how our bodies are 80% water, it makes sense to me. Just food for

thought if anyone ever needs to schedule a surgery.

Hi Debbie,

I hesitate to make any broad generalizations between signs especially

because I've seen two really great couples who've created good

marriages in the cancer/sag combo. However, you're right about

water(cancer nada) elements putting out the fire in a fire sign as

well as fire turning water into steam. You've got a 150 degree aspect

working as a sag relating to a cancer and that means no matter how

long you live, you two will never truly ever understand the inner

workings of each other underneath. That attracts some people and

repels others. It's not the 180 degree of opposites, but it's

annoying as all get out sometimes. Sag is also 150 degrees from my

sun sign(taurus earth) and so is libra and I've had some great friends

who are both these signs and yet at times it seems like the

friendships are spread out over moments in our lifetimes- not

continual and that makes sense to me. We get along fine, but probably

not every day for too terribly long and that's okay. It's learning

limits I suppose and I do so like my friends.

When looking at issues of abuse, It's my astrological opinion that one

should look at an individual's natal chart first and then compare it

to the natal chart of the abuser. I've seen some really strong

patterns between spouses and children who end up in abusive

situations. Patterns like physical violence versus more

emotional/psychological abuse are also in the charts too and yet like

every day in life, an individual has the freedom of choice to

determine what kind of energy is going to manifest. If you look at

Ghandi's chart, you could say it looks a bit like Marquis De Sade's

chart and so in that regard astrology is not an accurate predictor of

how a person will turn out - only of certain limitations/energy

patterns and such. Ghandi and De Sade did both cause a lot of friction

in the societies they lived in and both were continually thrown in

jail - both had outlandish ideas for how society should work and both

were killed at the end of the day by the very society they sought to

lead. Yet at the heart, Ghandi brought something really positive and

uplifting to the planet and de Sade was just the opposite.

Good question though and accurate assessment that you probably knew

with or without astrology, right? lol. I sometimes do that when

looking at the patterns- saying to myself 'well, duh, I already knew

that and could feel it', while at other times it's provided a real

validation I needed as a KO growing up with a very duplistic pisces

nada (she's definitely the fish swimming in opposite directions versus

the more evolved type of pisces I've also met).

*hugs*

LOL- what's funny also is that I quote Hyppocrites and end up being a

hypocrit myself today. If only I'd heeded my own advice to you

yesterday- lol. I went to the dentist this morning for some porcess

that was a little bit less excruciating than a root canal, but worse

than a cavity. So most naturally my gums have been bleeding off and

on all day- lol. And then I went to the dermatologist this afternoon

to have 4 moles removed (cancer runs in my family and my maternal aunt

had stage three melanoma, so I don't play around when they're dark)

and off course I was bleeding more than the doctor usually sees.

Isn't that funny? But these aren't really major things like open

heart surgery or something and internal bleeding is a lot more

dangerous. I saw today first hand, however, how accurate that whole

Yeah, my sister-in-law's a shrink and she really notices it when the

moon is full and other strange things are going on in the stars with

her patients. Back last fall there was some really bad aspects going

on that astrologers had predicted (such as 9-11, even though i only

know one who accurately predicted NY and DC and such and she uses a

really weird system that frightens me to tell you the truth) and my

sister-in-law said the nice psychotics went into this fear induced

shell and the mean psychos were tearing up the place like mad.

Strange, huh?

The funny thing with lots of kids being born on a full moon is that

it's really not a great thing if you ask me. The sun in a person's

natal chart is the father and the moon is the mother. When you see a

fullmoon baby, their interpretation of their parents are like night

and day- complete opposites. Not all of the full moon babies parents

get divorced, but a large percentage of them do and that's not the

same as the new moon babies- they're parents are just alike. It's

interesting to observe these little patterns IMHO just b/c I have

always been interested in patterns (dechypering was a really strong

point of mine and I almost joined the Military Intellegence to be a

spy, but my parents threatened to disown me since they were so

anti-gov't everything). I totally loved the movie " A Beautiful Mind "

and really felt bad for Nash's real life saga with being so

genius and yet having a very real mental illness. Did you see that

one? But that's how I got into astrology - the patterns and noticing

my mom's patterns of behavior, yet astrology doesn't fully explain her

behavior as well as BPD does. I always knew something was wrong

underneath and maybe being raised by a BPD makes one prone to notice

patterns and similarities- dunno.

When I worked in a hospital, I think it did get busier during a full moon.

I'm feeling a lot better now...is the time new moon phase over with. Sara

is my sister and since my nada will be here this Sunday to participate in

the great cat swap, maybe someonw took pity on me and gave me a couple of

good days. LOL. But I'm really looking forward to seeing Sara.

Nothing major is happening in the stars right now and this weekend

doesn't look too bad. A lot depends on your sun sign and your chart,

but i wouldn't worry too much just b/c it's a weekend only, right?

Communication looks clear w/o the mercury retrograde even though life

Libra is an air sign. It's the ruler of the air signs. It rules

music and the arts since Venus rules Libra. Most libras are very

pleasant people, easy to get along with and crave harmony. They're

indecive by nature, but that's b/c they want to weigh all sides and

see which option is the best...but heaven forbid anyone else make the

choice for them, temper tantrums when that happens. I've seen a few

bad libra moms and dads and like every other sign, it's more the

exception to the rule (save Scorpios and Aries just b/c they're ruled

by mars and crave conflict a lot). The bad side of libra is

deceptiveness, overbearingness in an intellectual way and arrogance

since they can think they're so smart (and it's an air sign thing at

times since they're intellectual types typically). Are you the Libra

or your nada? The air signs are great thinkers, but I wouldn't say

they're known for being as nuturing as water and earth signs. If you

ever pick up a farmer's Almanac, you'll see the best times to plant

crops go according to the phases of the moon and when the moon's in

water and earth signs, the time to plant is more promising. Farmers

don't typically plant during fire and air moon signs just b/c of

historical documentations- even though my grandpa is a fire sign with

a air moon sign and one of the best farmers I've ever known. Gosh I

miss his home grown tomatoes sometimes like the dickens. Hope this

helps.

I'm the Libra and actually that sounds like me, even the bad parts, but I

don't think I'm deceptive (but then do we really know ourselves). And yes,

I'm not a touchy feely type person.

My nada is Scorpio

,

LOL- then that's funny what I put 'save the scorps and aries that

thrive on conflict'. You probably already know this one, huh? I

would say I've met a lot fewer deceptive libras than

scorpios/geminis/pisces, but those who are seem to be really better

than anyone else. They're usually lawyers or judges with the ones I

was thinking of as deceptive, but the good friends I have are about as

deceptive as everyone else in this soup bowl. Of course we're all

deceptive to degrees that we may be unaware of, but I don't get the

impression it comes as easily for the Libra as with the

scrop/gemini/pisces and that's not to rag on them either. They just

have different issues in life and I'd say the water signs are very

indirect in their approaches to life and so they 'appear' deceptive to

me a lot of times but normal to maybe another water sign.

I only know one person with a Libra mom who's got issues and she's an

aquarius and even those these two sun signs are suppose to get along,

I've noticed a similar trend in my goddaughter (aquarius) and her

Libra mom. Not sure why that one is, but I've met lots of other

people who are really close to their Libra moms. But like I said,

there are many differences in individuals and it's hard to base an

analysis just on a sun sign. By the way, my former astrology teacher

is also a Libra. You probably have dimples too as I've yet to meet a

Libra who doesn't have dimples somewhere :)

Kere,

I am not grandpa, but I have some yellow tomatoes that will be ready in a

week and a few cherry tomatoes ready to eat off the plant...come on over!

Hugs,

Debbie
